It’s not too bad this isolation situation if you ask me!

I’m day 4 of 7 days.
I’ve not got all symptoms just a dry cough.

It’s lovely, I’m cleaning, baking, cooking lovely meals in my slow cooker, doing maths, English, reading and writing my little fella.
Gardening, getting jobs done that I’ve been meaning to get done for ages.
I’m kind of waiting to get ill, I’ve been swabbed today but I really don’t think I’ve got Rona, think I’m just really run down from work.
The extreme guilt feelings that I have been feeling for the last 6 weeks have lifted.
I think it will end in a couple of days when I’m negative and have to go back to work.

A bit of down time is just what I’ve needed.

How’s isolation for you?

Get better soon OP. You've earned your downtime. Enjoy. Flowers

CakeAndGin · 06/04/2020 19:34

OP, as you’ve been in the thick of it for the last few weeks you’ll have missed that MN has become even more judgmental than usual. You can no longer complain about anything trivial and you’re shot down. I thought it was fairly obvious from your OP that you were a frontline worker 🤷‍♀️. As a frontline worker, I think you should be able to see the joy in the little things a lot clearer now, realising that people can die so quickly and easily from this virus. Well done for not getting bogged down in the negativity and looking for the positives in a very scary situation.

chilimartini · 06/04/2020 19:34

OP I think you are ridiculous. Like you I'm on the front line...I am certainly NOT enjoying the lockdown. Get a grip.

Janaih · 06/04/2020 19:37

You wont win the misery Olympics with that attitude!

Get well soon and thanks for your hard work

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 06/04/2020 19:39

Isn't it funny how people that complain or admit they struggle get shut down.

And then we have someone that is actually enjoying it and doesn't have many issues with it and they still get shut down.

So basically only being miserable is allowed, but you have to be quiet about it.

Clap for nhs ,hail the heroes, unless they're so run down and overworked that they actually enjoy a break.

Rachie1973 · 06/04/2020 19:39

I getcha OP. I’m exhausted. I’m only a support worker in vulnerable housing but people are scared so we’re hugely short staffed. I’m working so many hours I loose track of the day.

I hope you don’t get sick and get to relax a bit before going back xxx

RandomMess · 06/04/2020 19:41

I hope you are one of the lucky ones op and you don't get anymore unwell with it.

I should think the last 7 weeks have been harrowing Thanks

lettersbyowl · 06/04/2020 19:43

Thank you for all your hard work over the last few weeks OP. Most of us are truly grateful to you. I'm pleased you're not too poorly, and enjoy the few days with your family getting some R&R.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 06/04/2020 19:43

Enjoy it op,put your feet up and fucking enjoy being away from it all and actually getting to see your DC.

I hope syou don't have it,an£you're all good and heathy, but ofc that means going back into the overworked, stressing, tiring and higher ris💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💗💘

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 06/04/2020 19:44

Higher risk lion's den.

Sorry DD decided to finish my post for me.

crosser62 · 06/04/2020 19:48

Yep, can’t win either way.

No one is enjoying lock down, I’m enjoying isolation.

Nice supportive post from fellow nhs frontliner there, nice.

-Rachie-
Pls don’t say you’re “only a support worker for vulnerable people”. That’s a HUGELY important job, not an “only”. Flowers

I’ve returned to MN after a long absence and it’s more judgy than ever.

Confusedasusual78 · 06/04/2020 20:02

Op, I wasn’t getting at you, you most definitely deserve the downtime, I just can’t even focus on remotely enjoying anything, I’m trying hard to be positive though.
Hope you feel better soon and enjoy the relaxation with your family 💜

Handbag101 · 06/04/2020 20:07

Rona?? Wtf!!!

littlemixarerubbish · 06/04/2020 20:15

Oh OP, you should have written the stuff about being a critical care nurse in you're OP, I'm not one of the self appointed CV judges and even I was a bit Hmmat what you wrote! But I absolutely hear what you are saying. Fingers crossed you don't get any worse, and get to enjoy your downtime because you deserve it.

How long till you get your swab results?

ThanksThanksThanks

Justasecondnow · 06/04/2020 20:17

Enjoy your break. Ignore the naysayers. Coronavirus has brought out the best and worst in people... online behaviour falls into the worst category it seems.

gamerchick · 06/04/2020 20:20

Enjoy your break OP. Don't take the posts to heart, everyone seems to be well snarly on here of late.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 06/04/2020 20:21

It's a thing

It’s not too bad this isolation situation if you ask me!
dudsville · 06/04/2020 20:22

Enjoy the time op, hope you aren't ill. I similarly head a self isolation period. I was such a relief to be forced to stay away from it all. Love the bonus time with your family!

bobstersmum · 06/04/2020 20:28

Get well soon op but enjoy the downtime Flowers

KeysDontBelongInTheFridge · 06/04/2020 21:09

@crosser62 If it’s not Corona it sounds like it’s definitely your body’s way of telling you you need a rest - you’re only human. Hope you manage to build up your energy levels. I was reading a news article about how Japanese commuters have been able to gain much needed respite from not commuting such long hours due to the lockdown. It’s nice to hear some positives coming out Flowers

Take care of yourself and enjoy the Netflix time!

Maxtry · 06/04/2020 21:34

Thank you so much for all you do OP x

picklemewalnuts · 06/04/2020 21:51

Well done for focussing on the positives. We all need to. This misery fest is serving no one.
Enjoy your down time- I hope you get a restful few days before you head back into the thick of it.

IDoNotHaveABlackCat · 06/04/2020 22:07

I am personally enjoying lockdown.

I find most socialising exhausting/unnecessary, as do my DH and kids.

There is no harm in us being happy with our personal situation. Others are not so lucky. But my being miserable will not assist them.

KeysDontBelongInTheFridge · 06/04/2020 22:20

I like the fact my children are loving learning again, as I’ve let them set their own topics to research and do projects about. Lovely to see them interested again. Apart from the fact my 5 year olds chosen topic is ninjas ....!
