Do you think we will see more and more people ignoring the rules this weekend?

It's going to be 19 degrees where I am on Sunday. It will be interesting to see how many people start ignoring the rules at the first sign of nice weather this year. I think we'll see a lot more people going out, round to friend's houses, etc.

It really hope the vast majority of people aren't so fucking stupid.

Hopefully the death toll figures will actually be making people think now.

Eeyoresstickhouse · 02/04/2020 16:27

Of course we will. Cos people are selfish cunts. And this is why if lockdown gets harsher I am going to be very pissed off as we have no garden and dont have the option like some other selfish twats who keep going out.

TheReelSlimShady · 02/04/2020 16:27

Oh i'm quite expecting it actually. Lots of seaside visitors etc.

Many people just don't seem to care.

MoaningMinniee · 02/04/2020 16:28

I fear you're right!

yearinyearout · 02/04/2020 16:28

I'd hope most people will get their paddling pools and bbqs out and stay in the garden. Pretty sure the local police forces will be on the lookout at the popular hotspots ready to turn people round.

Goawayquickly · 02/04/2020 16:28

I think this will be mentioned very firmly in tomorrow’s press briefing with emphasis on the new death rate, I imagine there’ll be a bigger police presence around parks and such too.

TheSquitz · 02/04/2020 16:30

My heart sank when I saw the weeked forecast.

HairyFloppins · 02/04/2020 16:30

I think people will definitely try. There has been more people out than ever the last day or so here. Hopefully it will be policed otherwise it will undo all the effort people have made staying in.

Chiyo666 · 02/04/2020 16:31

Lots of people being turned around at the beach today.

rainbowlou · 02/04/2020 16:33

Unfortunately from looking at local news, fb pages and the police updates it doesn’t seem like many have actually stopped, I imagine this weekend will be worse 😡

Juanmorebeer · 02/04/2020 16:33

I just did my first voyage out to nip to the shop. There were people everywhere! In cars and on the pavements I saw six families out on bike rides in the space of 5 min.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 02/04/2020 16:33

@Eeyoresstickhouse me neither! DS and I are in a first floor flat, no garden and we get an hour of fresh air a day when we go out for exercise, that's bloody it. If that gets taken away I don't know how we will cope.

If they do, which I suspect they will, I hope the police come down hard on them and start giving out substantial fine and not just £30 ones. I don't think anyone can say they've not been warned enough.

I think more people are ignoring the rules though. I still have to go into work and I've noticed a trend over the last 2 weeks. At first, after the lock down, it was dead. There were no cars on the roads. Then a lot of people got paid on the 26th and the roads were a lot busier again and they've continued to get busier sadly.

Vaginandtonic · 02/04/2020 16:36

Yes, I think people are going to be dickheads, they just won't be able to help themselves.

Derbyshire Police are going to be like pigs in shit though - time to charge up those drones!

I like looking at the webcams on this site. Be interesting to see this on Sunday.

snowegg · 02/04/2020 16:45

Yes. Some will be idiots who don't give a damn, but many will be ordinary folk who have lost faith that this government has a scoobys about what they are doing here.
Start testing or stop telling people you are following the science. You don't even know how much immunity there is, even in a range of 10% or 60%.

snowegg · 02/04/2020 17:08

I saw six families out on bike rides in the space of 5 min.

That's allowed.

jenganinja · 02/04/2020 17:21

Yes I think it will become more of a problem as the weather improves. It can get quite hot in April

bluewafflewithmayo · 02/04/2020 17:23

I’m sure the curtain twitchers are positively creaming themselves with excitement about all the people they’ll be able to “report.”

MH1111 · 02/04/2020 17:23

We should adopt the Swedish approach.

winterinmadeira · 02/04/2020 17:25

I hope not! Wales have set up road blocks to tourist areas and beaches but it won’t deter some idiots.

ThePlantsitter · 02/04/2020 17:25

I’m sure the curtain twitchers are positively creaming themselves with excitement about all the people they’ll be able to “report.”

This.

Panicmode1 · 02/04/2020 17:28

We had a heavy police presence yesterday (2 patrol cars in one place!!) and PCSOs patrolling the park. They moved people on who were just picnicking or sitting in the sunshine....I fear they are going to need far more of them this weekend if the weather on Sunday is going to be as good as forecast......

justasking111 · 02/04/2020 17:29

In my touristy bit of Wales Llandudno area today OH walking dog said this afternoon roads were busy, not tourists but locals. I hope it was just essential shopping . The A55 is being patrolled by the police the little roads too many for them to cover the A470 this afternoon very busy.

TreeTopTim · 02/04/2020 17:36

Of course it's only going to get busier. A lot of people are either just selfish or they think that coronavirus doesn't apply to them.

I have noticed over the last few days that the roads are busier. I go to the supermarket twice a week and go for a walk approx every other day and that is it.
