Not sure if its just me, but the meal I had just before we were told to lockdown was AMAZEBALLS.

Carrot soup, fresh baguette for starter's

Chicken quesadillias, big tasty salad, fries. The fries had some sort of dust on them? Probably crack. Or MSG. Anyway, they were divine.

You?

ednatheevilwitch · 01/04/2020 23:23

Wagamama with my boyfriend just before we went to the ballet.......the last weekend before it all got very real. It seems like a different world away now.

Eminybob · 01/04/2020 23:23

I met a friend I hadn’t seen in ages for a Thai lunch.
I had satay chicken followed by Thai green chicken curry, and a glass of red wine.
It was a week before lockdown and we were the only people in the restaurant.

Ohh Lakaz Maman in Southampton a couple of days before they shut. Mauritian street food. Absolutely stunning & really reasonable.

tigerbear · 01/04/2020 23:24

Mine and DP anniversary dinner at a branch of The Ivy. Seems unbelievable now, but only a week before lockdown.
Salt & pepper squid, then black cod curry.
And cocktails.
Was lovely, but I don’t think we fully appreciated it at the time, as the last time we’d go out.

Steak frites at a cote. Miss it!

tigerbear · 01/04/2020 23:24

Oh, and the place was absolutely packed!!

justasking111 · 01/04/2020 23:26

OH birthday twelve of us, had our own room upstairs, looking back that was a lucky break perhaps. We are going back when this is all over.

SlowHorse · 01/04/2020 23:30

Tinkletwat · 01/04/2020 23:30

Meatballs in Ikea, because I'm classy like that.

girlicorne · 01/04/2020 23:33

Chargrilled vegetable pizza at our local Wetherspoons a couple of weeks before they closed. If you mean a proper restaurant an amazing salmon tagliatelle at an Italian near my mum in half term. I miss eating out!

DBML · 01/04/2020 23:33

Taxi Driver burger I think it was called and sweet potato fries, with a side of onion rings. It was at a burger restaurant I can’t remember the name of. It was empty except for DH and I.

foofooyeah · 01/04/2020 23:37

Nandos! Would have chosen something a bit classier had I known. But it was tasty.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 01/04/2020 23:39

It was a good 'un - 9 course tasting menu in a Michelin starred restaurant for our anniversary. Glad we got to have it.

OtherVoices · 01/04/2020 23:41

McDonalds drive through breakfast.

Pipandmum · 01/04/2020 23:41

Lovely meal with a friend undergoing radiotherapy for breast cancer. Right by the sea.
But a restaurant nearby is doing takeaway and had a lovely meal for my birthday this week- fish soup and pumpkin ravioli - almost as good!

SugarMiceInTheRain · 01/04/2020 23:41

Indian meal out with DH for our anniversary. On the evening when they suggested pubs ought to close (I hadn't actually heard the announcement as had been busy teaching but was feeling a little anxious about the whole thing) We were the only diners in the restaurant!

Rumtopf · 01/04/2020 23:43

Sticks 'n' sushi with dh and dd. Delicious sushi with hot sake. Will be the the first meal we go for once restrictions are lifted and it's safe to do so as my Birthday is in a fortnight so I'll be overdue a treat.

amazedmummy · 01/04/2020 23:45

We had a lovely date night at the end of feb. Nothing fancy but our first evening away from DS and we got a taxi so I could have a drink. I'm even more glad we did it now.

IAmWineWineIsMe · 01/04/2020 23:54

I had ham eggs and chips in a pub. Loved it

TiddyTid · 02/04/2020 00:43

Day after Valentine's Day with DH. Was lovely as we rarely go out. Won't be rushing to go out again even when allowed. Watch and wait.

Flaxmeadow · 02/04/2020 00:45

Steak and Kidney pudding, chips and peas

BoswellsBollocks · 02/04/2020 00:50

It was my 40th the week before lockdown and luckily had lots of meals out planned.

Had a family meal at a BBQ place, another family meal at our local, a meal at Ask with DH then a posh hotel meal with my BF all squeezed in just before everywhere closed down. I’m so grateful for that week of yummy food.
