While many of us on MN are struggling to juggle work, childcare and daily life at home 24/7, there many MNers home alone, some struggling with their mental health, even more so without their usual support at a difficult time.

Lots of posters have shared links of things to do with kids but I thought it would be good to share events for adults - whether you're feeling lonely or just want something "grown up" to do after the children are in bed. Many galleries, theatres, concert venues, comedy clubs etc are offering online lectures, concerts and other events. If you have any suggestions, please post them. Live events are even better, it's great to feel connected to other people, even if it's just messages from strangers popping up on your feed while you take part in a pub quiz on Facebook.

Here are a couple to get us started. We've been doing the pub quiz as a family with DM 350 miles away and the DC in their uni towns.

I’m very much looking forward to One Man, Two Guvenors tomorrow evening. My office has also done a sweepstake for the virtual grand national this weekend if that’s an option with your friends

InconvenientPeg · 01/04/2020 20:02

A musician we know is doing a virtual gig every Friday at 8pm (with cameo appearances from his 9year old daughter).

90s kids might remember him from the band Pele.

I don’t have anything to share at the moment, but this a great idea for a thread. Thank you!

Goawayquickly · 01/04/2020 20:19

There’s also a great Facebook group - the viral jukebox for self isolaters and social distancers where people film themselves playing and singing all manner of music and instruments. There is a lot of talent out there and you can put in requests, great stuff

Great thread idea!

I’ve just seen an article that Greyson Perry is going to be teaching Art Classes during lockdown. Don’t think a date has been announced yet but I’ll keep an eye out and update.
