While many of us on MN are struggling to juggle work, childcare and daily life at home 24/7, there many MNers home alone, some struggling with their mental health, even more so without their usual support at a difficult time.

Lots of posters have shared links of things to do with kids but I thought it would be good to share events for adults - whether you're feeling lonely or just want something "grown up" to do after the children are in bed. Many galleries, theatres, concert venues, comedy clubs etc are offering online lectures, concerts and other events. If you have any suggestions, please post them. Live events are even better, it's great to feel connected to other people, even if it's just messages from strangers popping up on your feed while you take part in a pub quiz on Facebook.

Here are a couple to get us started. We've been doing the pub quiz as a family with DM 350 miles away and the DC in their uni towns.

NT just starting now. 160000 watching!
AllTheseThingsThatIHaveNotDone · 02/04/2020 20:34

I usually hate farce but this has grown on me. Fair play to James Corden, it's very physical comedy.

covetingthepreciousthings · 02/04/2020 20:38

I don't know whether these will count as they're technically for kids but I have loved them and found them very interesting -

Oliver Jeffers storytime on Instagram live on an evening or available to watch all of them on his YouTube channel, he's an artist and his books are beautiful though just picture books, I love hearing about the concepts. It's one of my favourite things to watch at the moment, he's also got a lovely Irish accent too.

Ben Fogle, Instagram live at 4pm at weekdays, but think you can watch for the next 24hr after, again it is aimed at kids but I've found it so fascinating hearing his stories, it's 30 mins where I can zone out and not think of any Corona related stuff.

Well I quite enjoyed that. Well done National Theatre!

Thx to Blue
I like Donny (in Joseph tomorrow at 7pm) but I have a big Tim Minchin crush so looking forward to Jesus Christ Superstar next week as am intrigued also to see how Chris Moyles does as Herod and I have always liked Mel C.

Thanks to egghead for the above recommendation.
I am enjoying it. I also liked Wild very much

Since having kids I have barely gone to the theatre and saw Frankenstein (Cumberbatch/Miller) at the cinema...seeing these plays is a real treat for me.

Friday Night Dinner Fans -niche, I know - Tom Rosental is doing an instagram quiz on the show at 9.15pm (follow @channel4 on insta)
Not for me - I would do a Glitterball Strictly quiz any day of the week, but there may be some FND superfans among you (I have seen it, I did laugh but I am a couple of seasons behind). I do like Shit on it as a literal translation of Scheiß drauf though Grin

available for 48 hours. Donny looks sooooo young. Go go Joseph on now!!!
AllTheseThingsThatIHaveNotDone · 03/04/2020 19:47

I have a soft spot for Donny, bless. He just seems like such a nice guy. He can still knock it out the park too - he sang I'll make a man out of you on DWTS a couple of years ago and was awesome. Saw him on The Real Michael Jackson documentary this week and he was one of few who came across well.

Fleabag, the live one woman monologue from four of your English pounds. Well worth it, even if like me you know the plot already. She is electrifying live.

Totally agree, was about to share the link too. It's a brilliant show, definitely recommend and a bargain for £4 really.
