The curious case of quorn mince and covid 19

I literally haven't seen any for sale in any shop since all this started, even before the 12 week shutdown. Did the nation really panic buy quorn mince? Why isn't there any for sale?

I got Quorn mince and sausages yesterday.
Can't get nuggets though and the Linda McCartney ones are horrible.

I managed to get some from tesco.
Quakers protein porridge is impossible to get hold of right now. Makes me so sad. If anyone has any lying around unused I'll pay, I'm a desperate woman and a very picky eater. I usually have 2 sachets a day and otherwise porridge isn't the same

@VivaLeBeaver DD, like the rest of us, is vegetarian but, like your DD is also Coeliac and on top of that allergic to nuts. I had an email from the Anaphylaxis Campaign today saying that they are contacting stores to ask them to put up signs asking shoppers not to buy Free From products unless they normally do so!

I got fresh quorn at tesco and frozen at lidl in the last week.

I can’t eat Quorn, it upsets my stomach

But I’ve had terrible trouble getting the (vegetarian) Cauldron sausages the past few weeks. All the buggers who don’t normally buy them!

🤣 been thinking the same thing myself, 2DDs are veggie and 1DD vegan, i think the veggies and the vegans must have led the panic buying🤣🤣

The first time our local supermarket had mostly empty shelves there vegetarian freezer section was untouched.I hate Quorn mince but like the chunks,southern fries and crispy fillets. Some of which are still in the freezer for useful,quick meals next week.

Made DD sausage rolls last night with cauldren sausages for her to snack on when I'm at work.There were picnic eggs too but they seem to vanish once the packet has been breached.

It's available as usual at my local Tesco

@Astressedmumoftwo have you tried amazon? I just had a look and could get a box delivered next Thursday

@poppet31 We had the same experience at Asda. Not ALL the freezers were well stocked but there was still a very reasonable choice, but the vegetarian section looked like it had been ransacked!

Hi can't link as only use the amazon app and my address come up, not sure how to do it. But this is a screenshot and when I went in, it didn't say out of stock.

DD (recent veggie) calls it quorn or soya fake meat so we have f-ince and also eats f-icken and f-eef - there is some shredded pretend duck in the freezer but she calls that pretend duck
