Just wanted to do a quick poll. Have you had coronavirus?

We've had it. I was the worst - fever for 9 days and still have a cough. DH and DD just had a mild cough. We're self employed essential workers so decided to have a private test done which was positive.

So who else has had it? Or think they've had it?

I'd be interested to know estimated numbers.

WoollyFoolly · 30/03/2020 08:10

Yes, I'm pretty sure I and one of my DC have had it. No test though.

5zeds · 30/03/2020 08:10

Private test? How and where

Eeyoresstickhouse · 30/03/2020 08:11

No. Nothing at all.

CrunchyCarrot · 30/03/2020 08:29

Nope, but am staying self-isolated.

clayspaniel · 30/03/2020 08:33

How did you get a private test?

middleager · 30/03/2020 08:34

Only those who've been tested know if they've had it.
Another irresponsible thread.

Elllicam · 30/03/2020 08:35

I think I’ve had it. My baby has had a cough too but minor symptoms

Exoffice · 30/03/2020 08:36

I know a few people who are pretty sure they have it but don't (yet?) require hospitalisation, nor cannot afford private tests, nor a royals who are tested with mild symptoms or without, and therefore have no way of knowing.

Pretty pointless question if you look at the testing regime in the UK and how unaccessible it is.

Skeeter2020 · 30/03/2020 08:36

How did you get a private test done OP? We're desperate to be tested

sunshinestanley · 30/03/2020 08:37

Can I ask everyone to share this?

covid.joinzoe.com/

It's an app gathering info on the spread for researchers at King's. Fill in even if you're healthy.

Plexie · 30/03/2020 08:37

Your results are going to be skewed by people who think they've had it but weren't tested. Some may well have had Covid-19 but for others it will actually have been flu or another bug.

So you should have at least 3 categories:

  1. Yes and confirmed by a positive test
  2. Possibly because of self diagnosis
  3. No

You could split the last one into people who have had some symptoms in the past 3 months but don't think it was Covid-19, and completely No.

sunshinestanley · 30/03/2020 08:38

Or if the clicky link hasn't worked, Google Covid 19 Kings Zoe app

Private test? How and where

Another one here who would like to know this.

OtherVoices · 30/03/2020 08:42

I'd be interested to know estimated numbers.

Is this the official Gov.uk poll? Might as well be.

WhoEatsPopTarts · 30/03/2020 08:42

Are you sure this isn’t a thinly disguised attempt to sell us a private test?

Daisy03 · 30/03/2020 08:46

OP, just interested as I’ve had a persistent dry cough, did your DH and DD also have high temperatures? I’m wondering if it’s possible to have the virus without fever

OtherVoices · 30/03/2020 08:46

Everyone should be doing the Kings research covid.joinzoe.com/

ScouseMar · 30/03/2020 08:48

Private clinics were/ are offering private testing.

NotEverythingIsBlackandwhite · 30/03/2020 08:50

No.

PriscillaPresley · 30/03/2020 09:17

I'm just interested if you've had symptoms consistent with covid 19. Obviously they're not testing so you won't know 100%. But when I had it I knew. I was very ill and it was very horrible. But obviously my DH and DD only had mild symptoms so they wouldn't have known.

Yes it's an obtuse question because you can't be sure unless you've been tested.

But my question is do you THINK you've had it based on your symptoms?

OP posts:
wheresmymojo · 30/03/2020 09:20

No

PriscillaPresley · 30/03/2020 09:21

No neither had a fever. And they didn't have much of a cough either.

OP posts:
FaithInfinity · 30/03/2020 09:23

I suspect I have. Started with a cough and sore throat, I’ve had awful asthma symptoms. Family have had milder symptoms. I’ve declined being taken to hospital because of the risk though.

PriscillaPresley · 30/03/2020 09:24

I wouldn't recommend people pay for a private test. We did it because we were having to pay locums £350 a day for DH to self isolate for 14 days. Our reasoning being if we didn't have it, he was self isolating for nothing.

But as it happens, it was positive.

Get well soon Faith
