Congratulating the 10 kids who completed the assignment and giving their names. And then in block caps:

FOR ALL THOSE WHO DID NOT COMPLETE THIS I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK OVER THIS IN CLASS 👍

Rude much?!! And no, their school isn’t open for key workers before anyone jumps on me and says how busy she must be

Teachers on these boards in general dont do criticism of people in their profession. Some behave almost like the police (or criminals)

You missed out the word "some".

Well I find it interesting, that my DD's tutor's school had online schooling in place 2 weeks before and they felt ready and confident

FFS. Teachers, like everybody else, could see what was coming. In my school, our IT staff worked round the clock the week prior to closure to get things set up because that was the right thing to do - read the room, get ready for it. We even had staff training - after school which we all stayed at voluntarily so we could do what was needed. We had no idea when it would happen, and like everyone hoped it wouldn’t happen, but the writing was on the wall with Italy and Spain. And yes, we heard on the news like everyone else. There’s no conspiracy here. We’re not hiding stuff en masse.

I'm pretty sure that I received similar bolockings when I was at school.

LorenzoStDubois · 01/04/2020 00:53

If that your biggest problem this week OP, then you're dong all right.

Teachers can never win.
And some people are never happy unless they're having a moan.

I fail to see the issue with that message. I’ve been telling my students this. How the hell else so we miss over a term and cover the work? Honestly some weird posts on here. Teachers are lazy and should be laid off. They all just want a long jolly. Teacher is contacting me to see if we are ok- how dare they! School is setting work-how dare they! schools expects me to do work- how dare they! Teachers shouldn’t be getting paid .... anyone else feel like we can’t win?! Seems like idea scenario for most of teachers get no pay, work is set but not expected to be done.

Rude but teachers are allowed to be pissed off too

Madamum18 · 01/04/2020 13:33

Probably could have worded it better but we are all human and get it wrong sometimes. The thread has turned into a teacher bashing/not teacher bashing/schools at fault/not at fault bla bla bla!1 These are strange times and everyone is trying to make things work as best they can.

A bit of tolerance and understanding would certainly not go amiss. Plus a bit of NOT making a mountain out of a very small molehill!!!!

And teachers ...keep on going regardless please, for the sake of the kids, and THANKYOU!!

@Sotiredofthislifeotired There’s no conspiracy here. We’re not hiding stuff en masse.

Think you misunderstood my point. Let me clarify. Some schools were prepared and ready some schools, my DD's in particular, were not. No conspiracy theory (not even sure how you read conspiracy theory). My DD's school show me their ineptitude on a daily business. They were given the same clues as other schools and were unable to act accordingly, inviting us to pick up worksheets during lockdown. etc. I dont hold it against them during these times. I dont call them up asking why they'd call my DSis who doesnt live with us and ask how DD was getting on. I let them get on with it and help DD work through the curriculum to the best of my non teaching knowledge. As a key worker school they dont need me in their faces. And if one of the teachers were unhinged enough to send a message like that through under the circs, I'd let that slide too. But I might come on MN to complain about it. You know "safe space" and allHmm

@FrippEnos You missed out the word "some".

However, I did say "Teachers on these boards in general. .." Now I could have said "some", but to say "some" and "in general", seems like overkill. Whichever word or phrase I used between the given suggestions above, I know I did not say, nor imply "all". Hope that's clearer.
