DS friend has died.

DS has just found out his friend has died of the virus. He was apparently quite overweight but was only in his 30’s. I was already taking this seriously and following all the rules but this has made me hyper aware of how important it is that we all do what we are supposed to do. I feel like the surreal has just become very real.

That is so sad. How is DS?

DS is 30. He’s ok but in shock at the moment. We just had a chat and a hug and he’s gone upstairs to speak to some other friends online. Like I say, it’s just made it all very real now. Really take care everyone.

I hope your son is OK, that must have been such a shock. It does make it seem real.

So sorry to hear this @Meruem and @PeterPanGoesWrong, I'm afraid the sadness is going to touch many families. I think the more we share the grim reality the more chance we have of getting the idiots who seem to not care to change their behaviour. It's the start of a very long road.

Boris hasn't been firm enough, the message isn't getting through. Its all about saving the small businesses and the economy and not enough tv footage about the realities

My aunt died here in Dublin Ireland this morning from the coronavirus. It has really woken me up.

Really sorry to hear that. As much as we try to make ourselves remember that those abstract numbers are actual human beings with lives and loved ones, sometimes it's hard for it to feel real until you start to hear from people who have lost friends or family.

I have to say, though, that the message really is getting through outside London. I live in a tourist town a long way from London, and there is not a single. soul around. It's eerie. It's normally so packed that you can't walk on the pavement. So Boris's message really has been taken in by lots of people.

We have just heard of the 3rd person we know that has died from it. All 3 are unconnected/didn’t know each other so haven’t passed to each other. I feel devastated for all 3 families.

2 of my dad's friends have died already. I know they're in their 80s, but my parents are devastated as it's only the beginning.

I'm sorry for your ds, it's very very sad when young people are dying from this.
