i hope he gets better soon.

PhilCornwall1 · 25/03/2020 11:31

@HatRack So if you or a member of your family gets it and someone says "who cares", I'm sure you'll be fine with it. Of course, I'm sure you'll say you would be, but I'm sure you wouldn't.

It isn’t that he has ‘money’, he’s the heir to the throne.

Metagoth · 25/03/2020 11:46

Obviously I hope he gets better but living not too far from Balmoral, there is outrage up here about why the rest of us were quite rightly told not to self isolate in holiday homes there doesn't seem to be anything said about Prince Charles coming up to Aberdeenshire and putting plenty of other people at risk up here. Also front line staff, NHS staff and police officers up here are struggling to get tested it does seem one rule for them and one for us. Heir to the throne or not, there does seem to have been very irresponsible behaviour on his part.

Sorry. What I meant was it is reported that in England tests are only being carried out on people who are in hospital. I understood that Scotland were testing if showing symptoms but not in hospital.

Apologies if I’ve misunderstood

BelleharePenguin09 · 25/03/2020 12:07

rookiemere

They aren't testing more people in Scotland- at least they weren't a few days ago.

That is my understanding too.

BelleharePenguin09 · 25/03/2020 12:08

And of course, absolutely the testing is due to preferential treatment. To claim otherwise is nonsense.

Dreamersandwishers · 25/03/2020 12:17

@Metagoth Also in Aberdeenshire, not far from Birkhall , and I’ve not witnessed outrage.
I am sorry that a 70 years + human being has acquired this virus whilst working to promote our country. In particular, though by no means a Charles fan, I have been very impressed by the investment he has made personally, and has encouraged others to make in the area. If you are also local, you presumably recognise the initiatives I am talking about.

Information from NHS Scotland

Testing for COVID-19

Generally, you'll only be tested for COVID-19 if you have a serious illness that requires admission to hospital.

Yes.

Deux · 25/03/2020 12:40

This is the link to surveillance testing in Scotland so aside from being heir to the throne is maybe why PC fits the criteria in Scotland
