Just heard it on the news.

OP posts:
Cappucinoextrachocolate · 25/03/2020 11:04

Obviously worrying, but how was he tested? I thought you can't be tested unless you are hospitalised?

ErrolTheDragon · 25/03/2020 11:06

I heard this from the other MN threads.

BuzzingButterfly · 25/03/2020 11:09

@Cappucinoextrachocolate he’s part of the royal family, he’ll have private doctors galore. He’ll have been tested at the first sign something was wrong. One rule for the rich, another for the commoners.

PhilCornwall1 · 25/03/2020 11:11

but how was he tested? I thought you can't be tested unless you are hospitalised?

It doesn't take much to figure that out, plus he was in contact with Prince Albert of Monaco who was confirmed with it and if he has exhibited symptoms, they'd test him.

The rules the general public have around testing most certainly won't apply to the Royal family.

ItsABitOfAShitFightMate · 25/03/2020 11:12

The news might wake people up a bit as to how real the crisis is.

HatRack · 25/03/2020 11:12

Who cares?

Deux · 25/03/2020 11:12

Prince Charles is in Scotland where they are carrying out more widespread testing.

PhilCornwall1 · 25/03/2020 11:12

@ItsABitOfAShitFightMate you think so?

WoollyFoolly · 25/03/2020 11:13

The bbc news report says he was tested by the nhs in Scotland as he met the criteria for testing. So presumably was admitted at some point? I don't know what the testing criteria are in Scotland.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 25/03/2020 11:14

The test is available privately for those who can afford it. I would hope that, as they are exceedingly wealthy, that they have paid for their tests

rosie1959 · 25/03/2020 11:14

I care because he is a human being

Purplequalitystreet · 25/03/2020 11:14

@HatRack that's a horrible attitude. He's still a person, regardless of your thoughts about the royal family. I really hate it when people say things like that.

Reports are his symptoms are mild. Hopefully he recovers soon

Some people. Most, thankfully, are being vigilant.

It shows too that the virus does not respect status...

Number3or4 · 25/03/2020 11:17

I hope he get better soon and that the palace puts pressure on the government to do more testing. Their words have a lot of impact on the government than most people think, I believe. I may be wrong. But I don’t like a fellow human suffering and I wish him the best of health.

BelleharePenguin09 · 25/03/2020 11:17

He will recover when he recovers. Again, the virus does not pay more respect to a Royal body any more than it does to anyone’s.

Lamentations · 25/03/2020 11:18

HatRack have a word with yourself.

Flyinggeese · 25/03/2020 11:19

BuzzingButterfly he was tested by the NHS in Aberdeenshire - where did you get info to the contrary?

Peninsula · 25/03/2020 11:21

I wish him a speedy recovery but would hope that if we get to a point where there aren't enough ventilators, that he would be prioritised the same as anyone else and not given priority because of money. Probably a vain hope

Well it’s a real live person that everyone’s heard of. I guess there would be more impact if he became really unwell or died, but let’s not get carried away!

ArnoldBee · 25/03/2020 11:23

I bet Meghan is pleased the RF doesn't do hugs now!

rookiemere · 25/03/2020 11:23

They aren't testing more people in Scotland- at least they weren't a few days ago. I hope he is ok, but it's safe to assume that his testing has been done by the NHS through preferential treatment- at least all the D list celebrities are presumably paying for them.

StitchInLime · 25/03/2020 11:24

Oh that's a shame.

And I hate the ‘who cares?’ attitude, get some bloody compassion!!The only thing we can cling to in this madness is trying our very best to be kind and compassionate to everyone (apart from the f-ing dicks who flout lockdown rules 😂)

bluebell34567 · 25/03/2020 11:26

they had more hand shakes and hugs than other people in the world.

Eyelash500 · 25/03/2020 11:27

Deux I'm in Scotland and work in the health sector, and there's definitely not more widespread testing here. It's the same as the rest of the UK.

More likely he's been tested immediately due to displaying one of the 2 red flag symptoms. And because he's heir to the throne he got the test.
