If you’ve had mild corona what did it feel like?

Was coughing last evening. I never have a cough. It didn’t feel severe. I went to bed and didn’t cough all night and slept ok. Coughing a bit this morning. Coughing is really unusual for me. I haven’t had a bad cough in years.

I have a banging headache but that isn’t much difference to normal. Due to jaw clenching in the night I often wake up with headache but this one feels worse.

But I have no fever, no aches or pains just feeling really tired but again this could be easily explained having two kids home 🤣.

I feel quite congested, slightly snotty, metallic taste in my mouth and a sense of something’s up my nose the best way to explain is like a chemical smell is irritating my nose.

I’ve also had an irritating sore throat for a few days.

Anyone else?

@TKAAHUARTG Your post needs to be deleted. Sore throat is one of the main symptoms.

Why are posters so quick to post that which they know nothing about?

crazydiamond222 · 25/03/2020 10:11

The metallic taste and sore throat are symptoms. Do you have a loss of taste or smell?

Alialialiali · 25/03/2020 10:32

@CodenameVillanelle
It's 14 days isolation for you all, obviously. Your keyworker job doesn't mean the guidelines don't apply to you.
Why would you go back to work?

The symptoms for self-isolation are a high temp and a new persistent cough.
As for work:

Here is an account of someone who believes they had it (his sister tested positive so pretty likely & he was surrounded by all those Spanish people at Anfield!), he says he had the mild version!

CodenameVillanelle · 25/03/2020 10:40

Her DD developed a cough, and it hasn't gone away. A persistent cough is more than 3 coughing fits in a 24 hour period.

It's high temp OR a new persistent cough.

Fuck sake.

LuxLFC · 25/03/2020 10:51

@CodenameVillanelle I called 111 because I read the persistent cough was 3 bouts in 24 hours which I had & I felt generally ill. They told me they had different information & it's actually constant coughing! Don't know what to believe.

WanderingMilly · 25/03/2020 11:15

I would say you have it. My son has it, at first he passed it off as it seemed just like a cold. A bout of coughing but not continuous and it cleared up; very slightly stuffy nose. But then it got worse, he had a massive headache for a day, then fever which sent him to bed for a day. After that he felt much better and thought he was getting well, then everything took a turn for the worse, with the classic tight chest, can't breath, loss of taste and smell but with strange metallic taste in mouth.

On checking, these are all listed symptoms, and he's positive. I'm just waiting.....

Slightly over egged the seriousness I feel, in that video.
I think I had it. After Twelve days I was still struggling to get more than a couple of sentences without a 5 min coughing fit. It would have taken me 3 hours to make that video.
I know everyone has different symptoms. But rather dramatic.
I switched off after 2mins. It took him 10 mins to deliver the message.

More effective you tube from Tara Jane Langston. Her video while in ICU gives a very clear idea of what the cough is like. And the seriousness of this virus.

LuxLFC · 25/03/2020 12:20

A very mild case

TKAAHUARTG · 27/03/2020 02:25

Oceans12isCrap but the actual post asking who has had mild CV can still stand when no one knows. Yep. That’s fucking helpful. I give up. I was trying to reassure the OP. (We should all be practising isolation anyway) but go ahead with your scaremongering.

TKAAHUARTG · 27/03/2020 02:47

Sore throat is one of the main symptom ok. WHO don’t agree but you know best. And seeing as how the U.K. is not even testing I don’t see how this thread is helpful in anyway @mumsnetHQ

Bookworm83 · 27/03/2020 05:35

I had a fever for 9-10 days. No other symptoms except the occasional headache.
I just started getting better yesterday so fingers crossed that's it over now.

Bubbinsmakesthree · 27/03/2020 05:50

Obviously I am far from certainly we have it but:

-children both had some cold like symptoms which were followed by a short spike in temperature (about 38 and quickly came down within a day) and a lingering dry cough

Both my partner and I have been feeling fatigued (not so much tired but really drained of energy), a tight chest and sandpaper-y throat. This has been over 9 days for me and has been up and down but never enough to stop me carrying on with daily life (though we have been self-isolating since the children got fevers).

I’m worried that if we have had it we were all presenting with some symptoms days before we self-isolated.
