Did anyone else not get a text from the government?

As I didn’t, and I’ve had this phone number for over 20 years.

I’m on PAYG though, maybe that’s the reason.

No big deal, just wondering.

The text says:

GOV.UK CORONAVIRUS ALERT
New rules in force now: you must stay at home. More info & exemptions at gov.uk/coronavirus
Stay at home. Protect the NHS.
Save lives.

redapplegreenapple · 25/03/2020 07:34

I’m on Vodafone.

Not yet. It's presumably because they know I'm a prepper and already knew about it. Wink

Or just that I'm in the next batch to be texted. Who knows.

TroysMammy · 25/03/2020 07:36

I'm with EE and got a text yesterday morning. My DP is with Vodaphone and hasn't had one.

itsgettingweird · 25/03/2020 07:37

Me and ds didn't.

Both vodaphone

BiBiBirdie · 25/03/2020 07:38

Nothing here, DP, I and both DCs have mobiles, only DS is PAYG.
Both DP and DS have complex lung conditions too, neither got a letter/text/email about them being in the vulnerable group
I am beyond livid. I know it's our LHA, every year I have to beg for a flu jab for DS as he is forgotten and I get some twatty secretary ask why I feel he needs one as he's not on their list. Every year I have to justify it and every year I put the phone down and get upset.

I am sick of it frankly, and will be raising hell when this is all over.

O2 late last night. It is not tied to a person or name. They are just sent to entire blocks of numbers, staged to protect the network. The first five numbers of your number signify your operator, there are sometimes 200 variations of this. The last last six are unique to that variation.

dementedpixie · 25/03/2020 07:44

I would imagine some will come through today too. The mobile networks have a lot of numbers to get through

coconuttelegraph · 25/03/2020 07:55

Surely what you mean is that you haven't had it yet or has there been an announcement that they have stopped sending them out?

redapplegreenapple · 25/03/2020 07:58

I thought everyone should have had one yesterday.

dementedpixie · 25/03/2020 08:00

AnneLovesGilbert · 25/03/2020 08:01

I didn’t. With virgin.

Lindy2 · 25/03/2020 08:03

We are with Vodafone and all got the text. I'm on a contract and my 11 year old is PAYG.

8MinutesToSunrise · 25/03/2020 08:41

Glad I'm not the only one who didn't get one. Also still waiting for the text telling me to shield for 12 weeks.

RoseLalique · 25/03/2020 08:44

Vodafone and no - same no for ten years. Dd did however and she’s been on Vodafone about three years. Other dd on Vodafone - no.

Luckily I know the ‘rules’ and am listening to the news so don’t need the text. But it all seems a bit arbitrary.

Bluntness100 · 25/03/2020 08:44

No we didn’t, I’m o2 husband Vodafone and no texts.

thereplycamefromanchorage · 25/03/2020 08:46

O2 here - I didn't get it, but dd did.

RoseLalique · 25/03/2020 08:48

Mine’s just come in - spooky

NewYearNewTwatName · 25/03/2020 08:58

I'm on EE got the text yesterday morning, Dh on 02 got the text late afternoon yesterday. Not sure about the DC they haven't mentioned.

Frenchcroissant · 25/03/2020 11:49

They should send it to my boss, work open as usual..

AnneLovesGilbert · 25/03/2020 11:59

Mine just landed

tiredvommachine · 25/03/2020 12:01

Just got mine, Vodafone

Xiaoxiong · 25/03/2020 12:03

I got mine this morning too, Vodafone must have been a bit slow off the mark yesterday!
