Are they putting shopping in bags to leave on the doorstep?

Thanks!

Yes I have - no they deliver in boxes.

Ondalay · 25/03/2020 05:15

But less than half of what I ordered was present, so it all fit in one box.

Veronicat · 25/03/2020 05:16

If you want it delivered in bags just put you are self isolating in the message box.

JoeySpecial · 25/03/2020 05:26

Hmmm, thought they would all be doing bags and dropping doorsteps at the mo.

Yes, I could put that in the note section, thank you!

Tesco’s using bags and dropping outside front door.

Gemzee · 25/03/2020 06:44

I had a delivery last night, wrote that we were self isolating in the address details box (as stated on the website) however they delivered how they normally would -
No bags
Each crate left outside my door which I unpacked while they got the next one
No signing for it

This is how my deliveries always are (had a delivery pass for nearly 2 years - weekly slot).
Confused

JoeySpecial · 25/03/2020 06:45

Urgh @Gemzee

They came right in with mine and helped unpack. We don't have symptoms but they didn't check. They also asked me to sign the little device thing with my finger. Confused

JoeySpecial · 25/03/2020 07:52

OMG!!!!

They put the crates by my front door while I emptied it like they usually do, I never opt for bags. Didn’t have to sign anything. There were 4 items unavailable and 9 substitutes. Surprisingly I did get toilet roll, pasta and paracetamol!

Carrie7469 · 25/03/2020 08:40

I had an Asda delivery yesterday. The shopping was delivered in the plastic crates as usual. I got most of what I ordered. I think the panic buying is dying down. I ordered things for two neighbours as well. One very elderly and one severely asthmatic.

JoeySpecial · 25/03/2020 08:41

They dont normally do bags but I thought they might for a little while!

JoeySpecial · 25/03/2020 10:31

Is anyone having problems checking out their basket with ASDA? It's been going on for days.

RoseDog · 30/03/2020 16:07

Always don't checkout on chrome. It works on edge and safari, I was having problems at the end of last week, found that tip online and it worked first time on safari for me.

jjejj · 30/03/2020 16:09

I had a delivery last week it was all delivered in bags and was a contactless delivery. I stated self isolating in the comments box when I ordered. Got most of what I ordered with just a couple of sensible substitutes.

RavenT · 30/03/2020 16:13

I had a delivery on Friday. It was due between 12-2, arrived at 6.30pm. No frozen items, they were missing. All arrived in plastic bags though.

I have a delivery booked for this Friday but it takes an age to get through to edit it. After that I can't get a slot....

louloubelleme · 30/03/2020 16:15

Literally just had my Asda shop. Didn't state I was self isolating. Was all placed in plastic bags and left on the doorstep. Pretty much all items there including pasta, toilet roll and hand soap Smile

Imohsotired · 30/03/2020 16:25

Mine were in old style plastic bags today and left on doorstep. The last two weeks the driver had to take the shopping out of the crates and put them in bags but today it was already bagged in the crates

Gemzee · 31/03/2020 17:34

Had another Asda delivery today and it was all in bags, placed outside my door & the delivery man went back to the van to get the next lot as I brought it in - so we weren't in close contact at all.
Much better than last week

JoeySpecial · 31/03/2020 17:51

You need the app. So much easier to edit, etc.

Got one on Sunday I never get bagged delivery but everything was in bags and the man stepped back to keep the 2m distance and signed it once I had ok'd everything.

A couple of sensible substitutions and only 3 items not available (I didn't order the holy trinity of tins, toilet roll and pasta though!)

Denisejan · 25/10/2020 14:30

My deliveries are still coming in the green trays and i have to unload my groceries myself while the driver gets another tray. then he stands watching me while i struggle to empty the trays. any advice please. i have arthritis and sciatica.
