Who is drinking more?

Cocoandclive27 · 24/03/2020 19:19

Drinking so much more at home. Stressed, anxious and bored. Seems like opening a bottle is something to look forward to.

Usually only drink at weekends but every day feels like the weekend now all routine is gone.

I'm confident it won't become a problem but I'll probably put on a few lbs at least!

Anyone else?

Me. A glass. But a large one. Most nights.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 24/03/2020 19:50

Definitely more.

Nothing tonight, but do I feel like a stiff drink or two.

Leighhalfpennysthigh · 24/03/2020 19:51

Yes. Normally only drink at weekends but the stress and worry and not being able to see my partner for god knows how long has meant that I'm now cracking open that wine as soon as possible.

reefedsail · 24/03/2020 19:51

It's not a great time to drink more- although I totally, utterly get why people are.

Stellaris22 · 24/03/2020 19:52

Would if I had any wine!

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 24/03/2020 19:54

Yes! Literally only really gave this thought earlier this evening. That’s it now, knocking it on the head. The DDs have a good routine we all agreed on, they’re getting daily work from school. DH has a good routine as he’s working full time from home. I’m the only one who doesn’t effectively have someone else telling me what to do Grin, so now I have to set my own new daily schedule and stick to it. I’ve actually got loads of things that I’ve not had time to do previously so it would be sacrilegious to waste this time not doing them, and sitting on my arse drinking wine isn’t one of them.

maa1992 · 24/03/2020 19:54

Not me! I've been isolating for weeks, got drunk twice and my hangover anxiety gets the better of me Sad

GinnyStrupac · 24/03/2020 19:54

I am, but not massively so yet

On the one hand I want to keep a clear head and help my immune system, on the other I hear alcohol kills the virus joking, sort of

Going by the empty alcohol shelves in the shops and supermarkets, somebody is filling their boots though.

Piplette · 24/03/2020 19:54

Me!! On mat leave with a 5 month old and now home schooling her sister. Teachers need a pay rise/wine allowance 🍷

Bugaboob · 24/03/2020 19:56

Yes. Need to put my liver on lock down once this is over Grin

FoxEars · 24/03/2020 19:56

Every fucking day at the moment

Kingcole · 24/03/2020 19:58

Yes half bottle a night.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 24/03/2020 19:59

Na, I get terrible hang overs. It's not worth it unless it's a big night out or in.

wehaveafloater · 24/03/2020 19:59

Nope . Have done restraint if you won't have anything to look forward to at the weekend !

onemouseplace · 24/03/2020 20:03

I was last week as the news was just all so stressful, but made the active decision to knock it on the head Mon-Thurs as I was sleeping really badly and I don’t think it was helping with the anxiety, plus with next to no exercise I’ll be the siE of a house.

ZeldaPrincessOfHyrule · 24/03/2020 20:28

I am. And I wish I wasn't but honestly I can't sleep if I don't have a glass of something at the moment, and that worries me in itself. I'm having the worst day of worrying today, I've let the fear get to me and now I'm struggling to get my pragmatic hat back on. I just want to pour myself a drink and cry, I've spent weeks being brave and I think I've used it all up.

Cocoandclive27 · 24/03/2020 20:29

Glad it isn't just me!

OP posts:
sassbott · 24/03/2020 20:35

Nope. I don’t think it will help with my stress levels/ anxiety. I’m trying to drink heaps of water and less caffeine. Have interestingly enough found myself sleeping unbelievably well as a result!

Am hoping it all helps fight this virus if I get it!

donariebroncorulestheworld · 24/03/2020 20:50

No, not yet. I'm definitely eating more bad stuff. But I'm keeping my drinking to the weekend otherwise to help me feel like I have a "routine". I went out pretty much every Friday with friends, so having a glass of wine on Friday kind of helps me feel a bit normal Sad

dudsville · 24/03/2020 20:54

Tons here! I'm looking guests to the "kish" sound of a child can of larger every evening. Please let me run out doin sho i can be normal again (disclaimer: world also required to return to normal).

asmuchuseas · 24/03/2020 20:54

This thread has made me pour a gin. I almost forgot!

dudsville · 24/03/2020 20:56

My typos were unintentional, but i leave them in place for your enjoyment.

Wolfiefan · 24/03/2020 20:59
Grin Now I fancy both a gin and a lager. Not helping. Blush
GinnyStrupac · 24/03/2020 20:59

I just assumed you had been indulging!

HopeClearwater · 24/03/2020 21:01

I'm confident it won't become a problem

All the alcoholics there have ever been have said this.
