This is intended to be lighthearted so I apologise if anyone is upset or offended.
I just wondered if anyone would be willing to admit to something which really upsets them about the lockdown situation, whilst also being very aware of how petty and selfish it is in light of the widespread suffering and the seriousness of the whole awful situation ?
For example, I am so thankful for everything I have atm and am doing as much as I can to help neighbours and friends, but I am absolutely gutted that Eastenders/ The Archers won’t be on so often, and also that I am about to run out of my industrial strength cover up foundation, which I used to buy at my local chemist and doesn’t seem to be available online..😟

I'm bored today. No work, DD wouldnt cooperate so not much "school", just feel a bit blah. Also reading the word "browse" above made me think about chocolate brownies that they sell in boots, the ones that have the cookie dough and now I want one (or two or three) of those. And now I want Krispy Kremes. Actually my period must be due. Now I'm sad.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 25/03/2020 18:04

I'm sad about loads of things. I know that lockdown needs to be done to save lives and I am following the rules but I will happily admit to hating it all. I'm sad that DS isn't going to school and seeing his friends and getting an education. I hate being on furlough and feeling useless because I'm not working. I hate that I can't socialise, that events and holidays I've been looking forward to are cancelled. I hate not being able to go for my weekly coffee in the cafe on my day off, not being able to get my nails or my hair done, not being able to take DS to the cinema or the park. I just hate it all.

2kids2cats80 · 25/03/2020 18:07

@HelloBolloxMyOldFriend...same :-( being single during lockdown is absolute bollocks! Plus with 12 year old in a small flat the vibe may not be a great idea lol
Also.....need my hair and nails done..

onaroll · 25/03/2020 18:10

I’m sad for my son who is 21 in April.
The celebrations he had planned ( & been eagerly awaited & planned). Are off... instead he’ll be at home with us .

Jarbie · 25/03/2020 18:10

I've had to close my business and now have no income at all. Same for my daughter and her business.

msgreen · 25/03/2020 18:11

Completely freaked by the fact I was due a hip operation, I have been in pain for years
And can’t walk far ,, of course in the grand Order it’s nothing ,but hard because I can’t walk far and exercise is difficult, who knows it maybe years till I can get it done,
But of course running out of foundation is very important

NewinTown25 · 25/03/2020 18:13

I just completed on a house, cant move in because no workman will come out to fix up stuffs required before moving in. Will have to continue to pay rent and mortgage for the foreseeable future while being on 0 hour contract.

Trivial given the current situation in the world.

Babs1953 · 25/03/2020 18:16

I was hoping to move at the end of next month to leave be with my partner and get another job as a Home Carer. I'm sad that I won't get to see him for a few weeks, so am hoping that some restrictions will be lifted. I'm more sad that I won't see my daughter for a while because she lives in London.

MajesticWhine · 25/03/2020 18:19

Weekend glamping trip cancelled and looks like it can't be rebooked.
Liverpool FC and the premier league.
No sport on telly
Can't play tennis
Sad

murakamilove · 25/03/2020 18:20

No football!
It’s literally our life (feel free to judge & think we’re sad - I don’t care!)

Notredamn · 25/03/2020 18:22

Eurovision for me as well!

I'm also (controversially maybe) willing to admit that the introvert in me is actually quite enjoying lockdown. And I have no FOMO. Although I'm sure the novelty will wear off and soon.

kennycat · 25/03/2020 18:24

I had a free meal at zizzi voucher for my birthday and didn’t get to use it before they shut.
I feel it may be slightly petty to email them and ask if I can use it once it’s all over!!

rubydoobydoo · 25/03/2020 18:26

I got a new car a couple of weeks ago and now I can't drive it as I'm self isolating!

Janaih · 25/03/2020 18:27

@Notredamn you are my spirit animal! Grin

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 25/03/2020 18:30

I'm gutted about a child free weekend that will be cancelled, DC missing final moths of primary school, likely cancellation of a much longed for summer holiday and wishing I'd had my eyebrows threaded last week while I still could.

But obviously hugely grateful that's all I have to worry about.

LittleBoxes · 25/03/2020 18:33

I bought people experiences rather than stuff for Christmas (theatre tickets etc). Wish I’d gone with stuff now!

ellesworth · 25/03/2020 18:35

My DS has only just settled at nursery, he's been going since October, and he's really missing it. Yesterday he was listing all the things he was going to do that day "go to nursery today, play outside today, play in the water today" and I felt so bad telling him nursery was "on holiday"

Personally I'm gutted about not going to the gym. I was enjoying going, I'm 34 and to me exercise was the devil and I couldn't do it, I started to really look forward to it and now I can't go. And Joe Wicks can get in the bin, my thighs are killing me after Mondays YouTube session!

OrangeTwirl · 25/03/2020 18:35

I am gutted that I can’t see my grandchildren. In normal times I have them 3 times a week for their parents to work.

I am so glad that all members of my family are still alive, despite 2 of them working their socks off on the frontline NHS staff, doing their utmost to keep people alive. They have lost colleagues due to this virus 😢

I am sad that so many key workers are being abused but glad we all have enough food supplies to keep us going.

Sad times... Stay home and keep yourself and everyone else safe people. The message is simple enough for everyone to understand

Mary54 · 25/03/2020 18:39

Very disappointed for my daughter. She couldn’t graduate with her university class in February because her written final exam was wrongly marked. The appeal was granted and she had a date for her oral part and civil service swearing in. The day before, the university closed and she’s in limbo until mid April at the earliest.
And my dh and I are supposed to be in Cyprus drinking cocktails just about now

KentMum81 · 25/03/2020 18:45

We won’t be going on either of holidays I had booked for this year.

Theoldwrinkley · 25/03/2020 18:47

Message to whiteroseredrose....hubby and son were booked to go to Iceland last Saturday, returning today. But their flight was cancelled by easyJet so they say they’ll be refunding. Because it’s government advice you should be able to claim off travel insurance.
Iceland wonderful, but I’d advise against blue lagoon. Again, it is nice, but I felt a bit of a con as it’s not geothermal pool, but ‘waste’ heated water from a geothermal power station. A bit pedantic, I know. There is a ‘proper’ geothermal pool, visited on some of the tours....forgot the name!
I’m sure you’ll get there. I’d recommend it.

doghairismyglitter · 25/03/2020 18:47
  • my sons missing nursery
  • me missing my job desperately
  • not being able to get my eyelashes done
  • id literally just started dating a really nice guy after a year single and now it’s obviously on hold
  • I’ve lost 3 stone in a year due to lots of power walking multiple times a day and now I’m worried it’ll all creep back on as can only walk once a day and walking at a snails pace as accompanied by a 1 and 3 year old.

We will all value our freedom so much after this

Rachel1874 · 25/03/2020 18:49

Friends reunion has been delayed 😔

Badabingbadabum · 25/03/2020 18:51

I love take out sugary, syrupy coffees. Especially the chance I get to grab one on my own without the dc and walk along drinking it.

I too am sad that dds, 5 & nearly 3 are missing out on so many fun things at school and nursery.

thirdwheel · 25/03/2020 18:55

I'm annoyed I wasn't able to get my hair cut and dyed. And because I am a key worker, my 2 days annual leave booked for me to binge on disney plus has been cancelled. But it will be there after this is all over.
