Sports Direct have told staff they are essential

Dd just got an email from her employer sports direct to say they won’t be closing HER SHOP as they are essential because they sell sports and gym equipment WTF.

They will be forced to close. I am in Scotland and even the main bit of the big Boots shut today. Products like tampons, soap, tissues etc have been moved to the floor with the pharmacy, and staff working in cosmetics, fragrance etc have either been redeployed or are off on 80% of pay.

Says here that bicycle shops are allowed. Had no idea sports direct sold bikes? Seems a bloody stretch

Sports direct has always been a shit company. Most of the staff are zero hours contract and they get treated like shite.
They are already on my boycott list.

Staff ARE in this morning.. apparently just to lock down and secure buildings, turn off water supplies etc but we'll see

Putting aside the shitty (but sadly not wholly surprising) attitude of sports direct towards their staff.
If you're into fitness and intend to continue (within the boundaries set out) you will already have kit. If you've never done any sport in your life, now is probably not the time to start as you would be at risk of injury and thus cause a strain on vital nhs resources
