AIBU to ask if you think you’ve had coronavirus?

My husband and I are self isolating. We have had a horrendous bug that we are assuming is the virus. Thankfully we have not been hospitalised, so have not had a test and are not part of the statistics. It led me to wonder, who else is at home with awful symptoms that no- one knows about?

I don’t think you can tell the difference, unless you are tested or you get the real thing with proper symptoms. We are still getting lots of positive Flu A positive patients so it is not the only thing doing the rounds.

I really hope I have, because if it turns out this is just a throat infection I'm fucked if I get CV on top. I started shivering this afternoon, which terrified me, but I think it was a combination of being physically cold and anxious. I had aflu jab a few weeks ago to try to avoid a double-whammy.

I think so. Dry cough, fever, exhaustion, breathlessness, but also a bit of diarrhoea. I'm not prone to coughs/chest infections and this has had me in bed for three days due to absolutely constant unrelenting coughing whenever I stand up (and only slightly better when lying down). If it's not coronavirus it's quite a coincidence that I've had the worst respiratory virus I've ever had at the same time CV is around. Plus until 10 days ago I was taking public transport to and from work in a very large, London-commuter town.

I was in the French Alps at half term. The following week ( 9 days after we arrived) I had 5 days of fever, chills and a really sore throat, then 2 weeks of dry cough and chest pain. I was wiped out. NHS 111 said no test for me and carry on as normal as I'd not been in a risky area. On reflection, this was perhaps not the best advice.....
