Don’t shout at me. I should cancel I’m sure - in fact I don’t know if the garage is even open. But will I get done for not having an MOT? It expires on March 27th.Confused

I took mine in for an MOT this morning and collecting it tomorrow. I have medical grade disinfectant wipes and will wipe in down when I get in and wash hands well I get home.

I would phone to make sure they are open and still go, social distance, wipes for the car etc

Most garages are open as normal, just operating strict hygiene protocols.

Had mine done on Thursday. Garage came and picked it up and returned it as usual. We had a chat in the street. I asked them to do a couple of extra pieces of work as they are a small local business. We are in rural Somerset.

Mine is due this week too, plus it needs checked and possibly a repair. The garage has already called about staggering appointments, minimising staff and customers in the building and all the cleaning they're doing.

They've given us a delayed arrival time and a specific time to come back.

Have you MOT if you can OP, you may need your car and doesn’t it affect getting tax and insurance, you might have to SORN it off the road

PuppyMonkey · 21/03/2020 18:40

That’s what I’m worried about @WhentheDealGoesDown1

Just an update as I know you will be on the edges of your seats Grin - got it done, managed to not get close at all to the guy doing it, all tools and surfaces were cleaned and disinfected before and after and back home now. Phew.

Car passed too!
