Please don't go on holiday

I live in a tourist spot in north wales. Today we have seen so many people coming to the area in caravans or camping. My friend works in a local hotel. They are still open for current bookings till next week. Today he has had more than 10 enquiries for rooms "to get away from it all". People asking if the restaurant was open "as its wales not england".
The same rules apply here as well, nothing is open, it's not even that nice weather. Most of the tourist attractions are staying closed instead of opening for easter. There is nothing to do.
If you are thinking about this please don't. You are endangering everyone. Our local hospital is really not that great, the whole system is under strain. Our supermarkets have very little food. Just please stay home.

My 77 year old father lives in Wales and he told me the same yesterday - some Londoners have called local estate agents saying, 'I've got £10k - where can I get a holiday cottage for a few months?'.. seriously WTF! The stupidity and selfishness of these people is astounding. Stay the F**k at home and stop spreading your germs!!

The locals are getting angry

Based on growing up there, there’s a lot of resentment towards second homers as it is. And I think as a native I can say this - there are plenty of people who in any case really wouldn’t need much excuse to kick off.

This is why lockdown is necessary.

I cancelled my flights to Scotland next week for exactly this reason.
