This is actual government guidelines
Yet some folk seem to think if you leave your house at all, you are a Covid spreading demon.
I fear lots of tension around this. See lots of very preachy, judgey posts on social media.
You cannot expect people to get not a single breath of air for months on end.

It's so hard. DS is distraught I won't let him go on a bike ride with friends. Sooner it's lockdown the better sadly.

going out for a walk in the countryside isn't at all comparable with visiting a crowded beach...

Try telling that to those of us living in the countryside who have been inundated with people from the nearest large towns and cities doing just that in droves this last weekend. They have all ignored the strong advice to avoid non essential travel and many have ignored the strong advice to keep a safe distance from others. They have been crowding in our lanes, on our paths and in our small village shops. I saw this with my own eyes and on the news.

This afternoon I saw a local mum walking in the sunshine with her baby in her buggy along the path, keeping a safe distance from everyone else. It was all as it should be and no doubt good for her mental health. Except two young adult male walkers with rucksacks came along, pushing directly past her, rather than simply step into the lane to give the required distance. There was no way she could avoid them, with her buggy against the wall on the narrow path.

If the PM's announcement tonight is lockdown, then these people will only have themselves to blame. It is a great shame that because of these selfish fools those of us who are getting out in our local areas and keeping safe distances apart from those not in our households, whether we are rural or urban, might lose that freedom.
