Is there any financial Help for those on job seekers allowance?
Fleamaker123 · 20/03/2020 18:11
In what way? Is this with regards the Coronavirus crisis, or just generally?
homemadecommunistrussia · 20/03/2020 18:13
I take it you hoping for a different answer than "Yes they will recipe job seekers allowance."?
Smellbellina · 20/03/2020 18:14
Presumably you won’t be sanctioned for not going to the job centre/being able to apply for many jobs. Is that what you mean?
SapphireSalute · 20/03/2020 18:15
what do you need extra for? isn't everything covered for you?
Greenbutterlfy566 · 20/03/2020 18:18
I don't know how they can survive on 70-odd pound a week and try to find work as they have are a high risk.
Smellbellina · 20/03/2020 18:21
But their income will remain what it was before the Coronavirus and they are only making extra financial assistance available to those who will be affected by the virus?
Canadianpancake · 20/03/2020 18:21
There's loads of temporary jobs being advertised at the moment, especially in supermarkets.
SapphireSalute · 20/03/2020 18:22
they are no more at risk than anyone else
in fact they are less so as they can stay indoors and lose nothing
Absentwomen · 20/03/2020 18:23
I'm puzzled, OP. What do you mean?
JSA claimants are not affected.
AbigailFreemantle · 20/03/2020 18:24
The basic rate of universal credit is being increased by £83 a month.
KilljoysDutch · 20/03/2020 18:26
I Think OP would like some help instead of being bitched out. Bunch of compassionate fuckers here.

I can't see there would be any additional help at the moment. The money really needs to be focused on the measures the chancellor has just announced.
Teacher12345 · 20/03/2020 18:30
OP can you explain how you are negatively impacted? I think the assumption is that you aren't losing a job or having to put one on hold to care for children that cannot attend school?
TimeforTea20 · 20/03/2020 18:30
I work with people who claim, there is little understanding as above, of the impact of paying higher prices for food etc and the devastation it causes for claimants who are already cut to the bone financially.
There is help for energy bills, extra food bank provisions via local councils, check with broadband provider as bt are offering help, may have to ring around though - good luck 💐
Bluntness100 · 20/03/2020 18:31
I don’t understand this either. You think you should get more money because if the virus, in some way profit from it?
