Diarrhoea, dizzy, shivery, exhausted - could this be CV?

JMAngel1 · 20/03/2020 10:53

I got up on Sunday morning and nearly fell over with dizziness. Then diarrhoea for around 2 hours.
All week since then have been having diarrhoea (no abdo pain) on and off, feeling really lethargic and dizzy like I just want to lie down all day (I can't!) and have a really hit face. I have a thermometer on order from Amazon since Sunday ( Prime - hah!) as I realised ours is broken (my bad, I shoukd have checked weeks ago) so I don't know if I have a temperature. I have no respiratory symotoms apart from a sharp pain that comes now and then in my left side around my diaphragm.

Could this be CV? Anyone else have symotims like this and tested positive?

Callimano that sounds exactly what I had.

Someone older did ask me if it was the menapouse!

So maybe it could be? I'm 45...still regular but over fewer days.

Callimanco · 20/03/2020 18:16

lifesaver I have been in Peri for 4 years at almost 50.
I have never experienced anything as concentrated as this, or that involved fully liquid diarrhea!!

Callimanco · 20/03/2020 18:17

Also snot and scratchy throat not a big feature in Peri...

Roostersmum2 · 20/03/2020 18:54

Another one with an upset stomach here.

I went for a walk alone to the local fields yesterday morning and by the time I reached the top of the hill my chest was burning so much it made me cough (I'm not super fit but not that unfit) which is unusual for me. That eased off. No real coughing since but a frequent need to clear my throat.

The sharp stomach pain and toilet trouble (watery) came on last night. I did have back pain with it. Not pleasant at all.

When I woke up this morning I felt like my head was full of cotton wool, general malaise.

In hindsight i've had sporadic discomfort in my chest for a few days and last week I had terribly sore and aching legs for no reason which I now know can be a symptom.

My children both have a new cough, my daughter worse than my son, but my son is exhausted and taking 3-4 naps per day aswell as sleeping 10 hours at night.

Either one of those things on their own don't mean anything but it does make me wonder when I group everything together.

If it is CV I hope it's mild and doesn't progress.

Roostersmum2 · 20/03/2020 18:55

I forgot to add.. I also have sore itchy eyes and chills.

Roostersmum2 · 20/03/2020 18:57

Oh and a horrible metallic foul taste in my mouth for 48 hours that I can't get rid of whatsoever

NowSissyThatWalk · 20/03/2020 19:08

I've felt exactly the same OP. My bones ache all over, even typing this holding my phone up my arms don't really feel strong enough, awful diarrhea, hot flushes, chest pain, dry cough, headache.

I really don't know what to do. DH has his wonderful children 50% of the time and I've been with them for two days straight, self isolating. I wish tests were easier to come by. Sounds like you need to be in hospital at deaths door to get one.

Blewbell · 20/03/2020 19:11

I've had the wretched metallic taste too! I've only ever had it before when pregnant. I've had diarrhoea/head ache/scratchy throat too. It all started GI but I assumed not COVID-19 but it appear not...

Roostersmum2 · 20/03/2020 19:15

I do recall hearing another woman (confirmed case) say the metallic taste was a prominent feature for her. It is safe to say I shit myself (very nearly, a few times actually) Blush

SureTry · 20/03/2020 19:39

I was in bed last week with what felt like a bubbling tummy, first thing in the morning I had diarrhoea. I had a few bouts of it, couldn't eat anything, I was also burping loads. Not long after that I was coughing, no temp and no headache. I have no idea what caused it and no one else in the house has had it.

Pteuropa · 20/03/2020 20:38

I’m feeling dreadful. Freezing cold, awful awful diarrhoea, aching all over, headache. Spent a few hours not able to speak earlier as I felt so ill . Still feels like a bad stomach bug. Not nice though and a reminder of how horrible being ill is.

JMAngel1 · 25/03/2020 21:05

Just wanted to update - day 11 today and still feeling dreadful. Diarrhoea has gone but I have zero energy, feel very dizzy with internal shivers, goosebumps and waves of heat in my head which come and go. Starting to feel like whatever this is, will never go away!

JMAngel1 how long did the Diarrhoea last for? That was my first symptom and on day 8 still got it. Sorry you're still feeling unwell. I've never had anything like this before. Have you heard / seen the coved-19 app? It's been designed to try and map the disease. Doesn't matter if you don't have a confirmed diagnosis (I don't think anyone in the community does). It doesn't have many symptoms lots of people are mentioning on there but does have diarrhoea.
Hope you are feeling better soon

Circletime27 · 26/03/2020 07:46

I’m on day 6. My only symptom now is diarrhoea several times a day, consistency of water. DH and DS have fully recovered. I phoned the gp for advice yesterday and he said it sounded very much like norovirus and it can take some people weeks to get over.

JMAngel1 · 26/03/2020 07:49

@tempestterra the diarrhoea went on for 7 days -sorry you still have it. I would say though that when my diarrhoea stopped, my other symptoms got worse which kind of makes sense as we would be eliminating the virus more efficiently from us whilst we have diarrhoea.

Yes I have that app and add my symptoms daily.
I just find it scary that the government are still only talking about coughs and high temps - no wonder it's spread like wildfire.

I have exactly the same symptoms. I’m on day 4 and now two of my children have it. Now developing a tight chest.

stairgates · 26/03/2020 08:17

I have had the scratchy throat, panicky feeling, metallic taste and very dry mouth at night but I am pregnant so this could just be from that, plus hot face in the evening, I have been thinking that it was maybe signs but am also wondering did I just catch the sun a bit as I have been in the garden with the kids trying to get some sun as it has been sunny? I would now be in the calmer bit before the respiratory part could show up so I will keep a record of things. I hope they get the test for markers soon so that we can start ruling things in and out.

TheDramaLlama123 · 26/03/2020 08:20

Also yesterday I lost my sense of taste and smell, anyone else had this symptom?

Mary1935 · 26/03/2020 08:42

Same here, scratchy throat, chills and very very tired. It’s been 9 days now. Slightly better.
It would be very very interesting to see what Price Charles minor symptons where - he clearly mustn’t have had a cough or fever - or maybe they don’t want us to know he did.
Or they don’t want to say in case we all think we are immune if we have had similar symptons.

forksandknives · 26/03/2020 08:48

Dramallama, my friend who's a pharmacist has said that loss of smell and taste is now being recognised as a symptom

MoonlightMistletoe · 26/03/2020 08:52

Day three now for me with severe Diarrhea Im going over 15times a day, last night I was sick once, this morning I feel boiling but keep getting shivers , have a blasted migraine which I think might be menstrual related. Eugh this is no fun at all.
My toddler had temp spikes and D for 10 days and a night cough, he got better and I've come down with it.
