Diarrhoea, dizzy, shivery, exhausted - could this be CV?

JMAngel1 · 20/03/2020 10:53

I got up on Sunday morning and nearly fell over with dizziness. Then diarrhoea for around 2 hours.
All week since then have been having diarrhoea (no abdo pain) on and off, feeling really lethargic and dizzy like I just want to lie down all day (I can't!) and have a really hit face. I have a thermometer on order from Amazon since Sunday ( Prime - hah!) as I realised ours is broken (my bad, I shoukd have checked weeks ago) so I don't know if I have a temperature. I have no respiratory symotoms apart from a sharp pain that comes now and then in my left side around my diaphragm.

Could this be CV? Anyone else have symotims like this and tested positive?

We need much more CV testing so we know where we all stand in terms of self isolation and also immunity going forward. I'm really not sure what GPs are doing at the moment other than fielding all calls to 111 and refusing appointments. Surely they could step up to organize testing?

MsPeachh · 20/03/2020 16:03

Wow... I’ve been blaming it on anxiety about the situation!

Troels · 20/03/2020 16:09

29% have diarrhoea
No way how are we not told this, only cough sore throat and fever.

tangledyarn · 20/03/2020 16:13

I've had a 111 and gp assessment after being unwell for 12 days today (breathing difficulties, cough, sore throat, chest pain, temp etc) who have said I have covid19 although cant be 100% without a test. I've had very mild diarrhoea for last 3 days.

Lifesavesocialdistance · 20/03/2020 16:14

Oh no!!

I had bright yellow squits too7, felt really strange on Tues /wed but felt fine since!

So it kicks in after this?. How many days after?

Can you feel OK after squits then get struck down?

Lifesavesocialdistance · 20/03/2020 16:18

People with dioreha what was lead time between dioreha and then resp symptoms?

Is there any study on this?

Lifesavesocialdistance · 20/03/2020 16:22

Jm sorry for multiple posts, I also had stabbing pain on left.
Felt like some sort of blockage? I felt really weak, tired, but perked up quite quickly.

It's the colour that's surprised me although I did have a carrot juice which confused things at the time but it's still orange now

picklemewalnuts · 20/03/2020 16:28

Oh man! This could be us.

DS2 felt awful, temperature aches and pains, vomiting, stomach ache. ill for about a week.

Now I've just had diarrhoea out of nowhere.

Think DS1 May have had diarrhoea last week as he asked me to avoid milk in the cooking for a while.

On the upside, at least DS1 is recovered, if it was the dreaded CV.

TheWooisStrong · 20/03/2020 16:30

I had mild diarrhoea symptoms over a week ago now, Tuesday 10th/11th. As did children. Thought it was just a bug. Sore throat towards end of week.
This week since Tuesday I’ve developed chills, general crap feeling, occasionally racing heart, chest pressure and ache between upper shoulder blades Wed/Thurs.
Gaviscon has helped the chest issues - it feels like very weird reflux and a cold feeling in my chest.
Not hungry, forcing myself to eat and feel better if I do, particularly fresh fruit. Need more liquids than seems normal.
No major breathing issues, and I really hope I don’t get worse.

GrumpyHoonMain · 20/03/2020 16:30

Seems like flu

Lifesavesocialdistance · 20/03/2020 16:33

Gosh the woo so about a week!

Such a bloody worry!
I thought whatever I had on Tuesday went! Was that the bastard getting settled!

Frownette · 20/03/2020 16:35

The paper I first saw on this was clearest on timescales, I'll have to try to find it

Jade1976 · 20/03/2020 16:36

This is ridicoulous so many people up in the air. They really need to ramp up testing.

diddl · 20/03/2020 16:38

"No way how are we not told this, only cough sore throat and fever."

It's even in the dreaded Mail online, so not being hidden!

Frownette · 20/03/2020 16:41

Article was in fox news, about a study in American Journal of gastroenterology

DM publishing stuff on it??

Northernsoullover · 20/03/2020 16:47

I have had the shits on waking up (have to dash to the loo) these last few days. No appetite so I'm not eating a lot..I'm not eating because I'm so anxious so I will put it down to anxiety and keep a watchful eye. I'm at home anyway so not out and about.

Callimanco · 20/03/2020 17:31

This sounds very like the bug I have had.
Last Saturday afternoon - fine, reorganised my food cupboard.
Started cooking tea.
By the time I served tea I had no appetite and felt "jittery", like almost shaky. Lightheaded. Temp was fine (37.2). Mild scratchy throat. Took myself off to self isolate in case.
Saturday night - most horrific night of fast heart beat, waves of dread like feelings like a huge panic attack again and again
Sunday - felt dizzy and lightheaded. Like hungover. Diarrhea that was water texture. Slight cold symptoms. No appetite.
Monday - no appetite. Lightheaded. Thick mucus at back of throat and throat sticky and dry
Appetite returned to some extent Monday Eve. Digestion settles. Thick mucus, occasional cough, and slight scratchy throat continue. Keeps feeling like it might turn into something more - a full on streaming cold or cough. But doesn't.
Lightheadedness continues getting gradually milder.

Today, Friday, I feel rather better.
I think it's probably the same bug you have had OP. No idea if it might be CV.

Callimanco · 20/03/2020 17:33

Incidentally on Sunday/ Monday I had the strange hot dry feeling face that people describe. I thought it might be a hot flush. No fever.

Callimanco · 20/03/2020 17:34

And Tuesday Eve I thought I might be getting a pain behind my breastbone. But that never developed either.

okiedokieme · 20/03/2020 17:37

It is possible to get more than one disease at a time. There's no official word that gastric issues are a symptom. The key symptoms are a continuous cough and a high fever. If you don't feel well stay home but don't assume every illness symptom has to be coronavirus

okiedokieme · 20/03/2020 17:40

@Callimanco

I get them all the time, it's called peri menopause. I can't hide away for 5+ years because I have hot ears (yes ears, my hot flushes are just my ears) been like it for 2 years on and off. If I get the cough I will isolate of course

TootsieTweets · 20/03/2020 17:43

Yes

Callimanco · 20/03/2020 17:48

@okiedokieme

Thanks for your helpful comment that has really illuminated this discussion. I did not stay in isolation once no cough developed, came out Sunday Eve.

We are talking about newly experienced strange shared symptoms. None of us are claiming it's CV.
We have clearly had the same bug, whatever it is.

My pal in the USA is currently recovering from lab confirmed covid 19. She had pneumonia and 12 days in bed. Never had a fever; only occurs in 88 percent of cases. Her son had a 2 day fever followed by cold symptoms. Her daughter coughed for 1 day.
If you only isolate for cough AND fever you are going to miss a lot of infections. 29 percent start with diarrhea.

GallusAlice79 · 20/03/2020 17:50

I am so glad I read this. I am rarely ill, but feel pretty rubbish today. Scratchy throat, itchy eyes, slight dizziness, fatigue and diarrhoea. Assumed it wasn't CV as no cough or fever, but did find it odd to have anything as it's so rare.

Was self-isolating anyway as it is fairly straightforward to do so, so won't change how I act. But good to know it could be CV.
