Has anyone had any guidelines about the vouchers mentioned yesterday?

We have 2 children who receive the pupil premium for free school meals but haven't heard anything

We did remove them from school on Monday so haven't been able to pop in to the office and ask

Unfortunately March, lots of us are taking on the role of social workers as well as teachers because there simply are not enough staff in social care to support pupils. This has been the case for a long time but in my 10+ year of teaching it has never been this bad.

Would you believe my borough was asked to consider making face to face contact with those pupils who have social workers because they didn't have the staff to do weekly visits? They happened as lockdown kicked in.

Would you believe that some social workers have upwards of 30 cases on their workload? Because that's the truth.

I have made a number of referrals that are not locked up because they don't meet the threshold. This threshold seems to be getting higher and higher and staff in schools I've worked in have had to clothe and feed pupils and their families before because again, the referral doesn't meet the threshold.

Not picked up*

@BertNErnie yes I would believe you. I make referrals to social workers too so I do agree it’s a service under great pressure.

@March20
Did you just use a hashtag? Hmm

@Shitfuckoh - if you fill in the forms, your school will receive extra funding, regardless of whether you take up the meals or not.

I’m entitled to MY opinion. I’m not going to change it. Like I have stated! And for your info when exams are being marked your spelling doesn’t have to be perfect just as long as the examiner can deem it to be readable you would get the mark.

What exams are these?

@March20

With that attitude, I’m saddened to read you work with individuals in the context where it’s necessary to make social work referrals. When you work with vulnerable children and families, having a non judgemental attitude is important. It’s what helps encourage these people to engage with services. So called “professionals” who hold unpleasant views and post them online are rarely good at hiding it in front of families.
