I'm right to cancel my holidays later in the year, aren't I?

I know I am really. They are only UK holiday park type holidays and I've only paid deposits. They are in late July and August.

Please don't roast me alive, I'm going to cancel. Its just so final!

I’m annoyed, luxury hoseasons lodge booked for 4 adults / 3 kids May half term , balance paid 2 weeks ago £2600.

Hoseasons wont refund even on full lockdown, they will possibly rebook dates but only for 12 months, Travel insurance probably wont pay.
I would rebook for next May but DD’s 2 step children live in another county and holidays often don’t match DD’s (teacher).

If ai cancel before tomorrow I lose 50%, afterwards 100%.
They are also keeping full balances for people rebooking rather than just deposit amounts, which is outrageous.
I’m very lucky in that we can swallow the loss, many people will have an extra problem they really don’t need right now.
They are still advertising last minute and easter breaks 😡

I'm going to cancel mine. Booked for early June, UK holiday park/lodge thing. I've paid the deposit, which I'll write off. The terms have a clause for force majeur so if i pay the full whack and then lose it I'll regret it as they won't refund even if it's them choosing to cancel not me.

Slightly gutted but small fry compared to what others are going through/losing

I'm due to pay for mine and of April. Planning to cancel. But I only paid a small deposit.

I wouldn't cancel. They'll allow you to move it. I'd wait and see until nearer the time. I've got a trip to NY coming up and I'm leaving until nearer the time to find out about it. I'm guessing I won't be going but who knows. No point stressing about something months away.
