To go to the beach this weekend?

I live on my own with 2 dogs, my DH passed away unexpectedly last year and my parents are isolated and at high risk so can't see them, I'm working from home for the next 3 months so pretty lonely.

My favourite thing is being near the sea, I love it as do the dogs. WIBU to drive me and the dogs to the beach (about an hour away) and take them on a massive walk along the coast? I'll take my own lunch so i don't need to go to a cafe etc. I'm in the UK and the stretch of beach I go to is normally pretty dead only a few other dog walkers.

This will be at the weekend!

We are currently in Northumberland on holiday and have been doing beach walks with the dog. We don't come into contact with anyone the entire time.

Definetly go for a walk on the beach!! If it's your favourite thing to do with the dogs it's so important we get out in the fresh air, it will do wonders for your mental health too which also needs looking after at times like this.

YANBU. I just saw a post on Twitter from the National Trust saying that they're closing their properties but looking at having the grounds open for free so that people can have a walk in the fresh air while observing the advice to keep apart from others.

And if you see a cafe that's open you can, and should, consider buying something.

That's basically my plan for walking my dog (minus the hour drive because I live about ten minutes from the sea).

Also this, as long as you are not considered vulnerable, small businesses in particular will need are custom while they are open. Man can’t close until the government enforce it as the insurance won’t cover them unless that’s the case. They will still have to pay the running costs, likely lay some people off or reduce hours but they must stay open so every little helps.

go! I would in a heartbeat. in fact if nursery closes I might take DD to a cottage on the coast, DH is being asked to do overtime due to self isolation and as long as we're healthy I can work anywhere.

Thanks all, I have worked so hard on my mental health in the last 6 months and keeping busy was how I coped. I know i'll struggle in the next 3 months so want to do what I can whilst I can!

Yes I'm not at risk so i'll grab some lunch from a local cafe if they are open, good point! I do feel for small business and I'm trying to keep supporting them where I can.

I’m going to my caravan on the coast. This is pre planned and nothing to do with covid-19 but as I am vulnerable I reckon I’m better off in a quiet place with lots of fresh air. Govt has said walking outside is fine and frankly is good for our mental health.

Of course. It's really important to get exercise, otherwise the government will have a quite different problem on its hands once this is all over.

Of course go ,I have a day off today with my oh we have gone for a long drive to the coast have stopped at a very small cafe for breakfast and are just about to walk on the beach enjoy the weekend with your dog's

I went for a walk with my dog and my "big dog" ex racehorse this morning. Just the three of us mooching around quiet country lanes. Best start to the day.

We live right on a beach. It's a ghost town here. Saw 3 other ddogs yesterday that's all. Dc are off today so will be going down.
Ds is in a vulnerable group.
