Is the Coronavirus the only thing we can talk about on here now?

I know it’s serious, I’m scared too. But don’t you want to talk about other stuff too?

I’ve been watching videos of tonsil stones being removed after discovering that I had one the other day. So disgustingly satisfying. It was so strange though, it didn’t smell like everybody said. I’ve realised I’ve actually had them for ages and woken up with them at the back of my throat but thought it was some kind of undigested food stuck in my throat. Taste and smell weren’t exactly nice but not bad either, so I had no idea that’s what it was!

Sorry if that’s super disgusting (which I know it is). Distracted me for a good while though.

PeterPanGoesWrong · 18/03/2020 09:09

That’s why I posted about my new blankets on here just yesterday. Which, by the way we’re very very comfortable last night. Neither of us overheated.
@lightlypoached, our cat was sick yesterday too, unusual for her. I heard it but I was still asleep iykwim but I found the sick when I got up! Yup, I stood in it ugh!

Sparklingbrook · 18/03/2020 09:15

I think the Coronavirus topic needs some sub sections. Definitely an 'online grocery order problems' section.
Or a Coronavirus AIBU or AIO (Am I overreacting).

Fluffymule · 18/03/2020 09:18

I bet a few who binned those insulting Christmas Bayliss and Harding hand wash sets in disgust are secretly having regrets right now... Grin

PeterPanGoesWrong · 18/03/2020 09:22

Oh, I’m trying to find a thread from about 12 months plus ago. I remember it was moved to classics. It was from before I had actually signed up so I can’t find it by searing threads I’m on.

It was about a DH who had a false leg, he looked like a Viking apparently. The op was entertaining us with tales of stealing his leg when he napped. I remember laughing out loud at their lovely relationship. Anyone else remember what it was titled?
(And yes, I’m rereading classics just to keep myself entertained as I’m ‘WFH’ only my work is all cancelled for the foreseeable future)

contentedsoul · 18/03/2020 09:25

Tell me about it.
FFS sick to death of hearing about it.
(Maybe wrong choice of words there Grin )

I miss the parking ops with diagrams.

Everyone go to you windows, there must be someone, somewhere parking over a driveway.

Draw it for us!!!!!

pissedoffwithprojects · 18/03/2020 13:53

I'm rubbing my hands in glee for JKScot's suggestions!

Lweji · 18/03/2020 15:12

Check out the Alphabet street parking thread. I think it's in classics now.

Thepigeonsarecoming · 19/03/2020 01:40

Thank you (most of you 😂) for your responses, gave me a laugh on an otherwise shite day!

My mother, one of the most passionate remainers I know, thinks she might make a rare fb post to say 'come back Brexit, all is forgiven' Grin

Thepigeonsarecoming · 19/03/2020 02:10

Out of interest and completely changing the topic who is watching the new series of ready steady cook and master chef?

OP posts:
Lynda07 · 19/03/2020 02:41

There are threads on other subjects but somehow Covid-19 always finds its way into the discussion. Not surprising really, it is a very 'big thing'.

Thepigeonsarecoming · 19/03/2020 02:45

It is @lynda07, but we can also talk about other things too, I’ve never said let’s not talk about it. I’m just trying to find something else too. This is a stressful time so if I feel better talking about cooking or anything else am I wrong?

OP posts:
Thepigeonsarecoming · 19/03/2020 02:48

And also @Lynda07 the subject I was trying to change was Brexit, which may seem like history now given current circumstances 😂

Mhmm... well, I've just ordered a wig online because my roots are horrible. I'm sort of looking forward to having longish, swinging hair. I can swoosh it around and practice sultry looks at the DC. Since no-one else will see it!

Thepigeonsarecoming · 19/03/2020 03:35

That sounds amazing and slightly scary all at the same time! @caribooshriek

People are panicking so much. That’s the problem (Captain Obvious, I know Smile).

Just before I saw your thread I started this:

ArriettyJones · 19/03/2020 03:41

I’m kind of glad of a rest from Brexit discussion too, truth be told Grin

Thepigeonsarecoming · 19/03/2020 03:43

Think I’ll stick to Harry Potter right now :)

I could start a fantasy parking thread?
We live near a football ground and have a parking space on our front garden that we never use. I've often wondered what would happen if a football supporter parked in it. Do we charge them? Does it matter?

SunshineCake · 19/03/2020 06:29

There are plenty of other topics but funnily enough if you are in the Coronavirus topic that is what will be talked about.

Thepigeonsarecoming · 20/03/2020 02:57

@SunshineCake very true, but this was meant to be lighthearted, not taken seriously. Just a way for people to talk random garbage as well. It’s a stressful time for everyone and mental health is also important, I can’t see I offended anyone nor stole any vital Coronavirus Mumsnet post slots here?

And isn’t our worry about the constant Coronavirus talk also a Coronavirus related post?

By the way I also comment on lots of Coronavirus posts in a more serious way
