Is the Coronavirus the only thing we can talk about on here now?

I know it’s serious, I’m scared too. But don’t you want to talk about other stuff too?

Thepigeonsarecoming · 18/03/2020 02:50

Name any other subject, I’ll go there :P

Topseyt · 18/03/2020 02:53

I almost miss the days of arguing over Brexshit.

Thepigeonsarecoming · 18/03/2020 02:56

Haha @Topseyt, I said this Sunday, I hated all the Brexit chat and now I almost miss it!

OP posts:
Thepigeonsarecoming · 18/03/2020 02:58

Anyone feel free to name a chat subject?

There's the near miss asteroid.

Thepigeonsarecoming · 18/03/2020 03:05

Thank you Lweji, asteroids are comforting now 😂

OP posts:
Lweji · 18/03/2020 03:07

I'd have to find out where the air burst might happen
Could be an interesting show.

Thepigeonsarecoming · 18/03/2020 03:09

Seriously though did your cake burn, did your dog fart, did you record a squirrel singing a Disney song? Anything better than constant Coronavirus posts? Surely we can do a little positive online?

OP posts:
Thepigeonsarecoming · 18/03/2020 03:10

Will wait to hear @Lweji, genuinely interested!

The irony

Thepigeonsarecoming · 18/03/2020 03:12

Asteroids, black holes - Radio 4 repeating all the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy stuff because its the 42nd anniversary has reminded me

  • how tedious I found it the first time around.
  • that I feel old.
  • that a dreamy/mystical boyfriend at the time (think Brian Cox before Brian Cox was a thing) probably ripped off most of his dreamy mystical lines from said hitchhikers guide to the galaxy.
Thepigeonsarecoming · 18/03/2020 03:28

FrOg, that’s quite an answer! Wow I opened up a lot of questions and I didn’t expect all these answers! I can’t appreciate all as I don’t really understand, but dreamy Brian Cox I get from D-Ream

OP posts:
Thepigeonsarecoming · 18/03/2020 03:49

I was actually hoping for less complicated posts than about black holes. Just normal everyday problems, I miss them on here!

Go for it, I'd be stunned if you find something that's current affecting people lives more right now. Who wants to bitch about their MIL now? She's probably in a high risk group. Or hen/stag/wedding plans - cancelled. Their DH's mystery 'hobby' that keeps him out all weekend - cancelled. Wedding drama - wedding now postponed cancelled. The CF who expects them to XYZ - people are starting to pull together for the greater good...

MinnieMountain · 18/03/2020 06:28

On a superficial level op, DH's cousin is an academic at the same university as Brian Cox and doesn't like him. We think he's jealous.

pissedoffwithprojects · 18/03/2020 06:51

I desperately want to discuss something that isn't depressing and related to Coronavirus but I'm drawing a blank. Erm... I'm thinking of subscribing to Amazon Prime as I might have some time to watch some shows? Sorry, that's the best I've got!

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 18/03/2020 06:54

Wonder how all those hubby-hobby cyclists are coping Grin now that they need to start staying in and doing some actual parenting.

userxx · 18/03/2020 06:57

There a mundane chat thread going on somewhere. Exactly what is needed at the moment.

GroggyLegs · 18/03/2020 06:59

I have a question about postmen that I want answering if anyone can oblige?

How do they decide the delivery routes? Is it by number if houses? What if some houses have long drives - is it taken into account? What if you jog your route - do you get back to base & they give you more post to deliver or can you go home? How many steps does your average post person do on a shift?

I need to know.

Great questions. The only postie facts I know (derived from my own observations rather than actual fact) are

  1. Posties wear shorts year round
  2. One postie for the area takes all the parcels round in a van and th me other posties split the paper mail

Again.....Just my area (NE).

Smelborp · 18/03/2020 07:07

But you’ve literally just started a thread about the coronavirus! Grin

@Thepigeonsarecoming my cat keep eating too I have and then throwing it up everywhere. Then she eats the vomit Envy(not envy). She s already on a special easy digest diet, and has a slow eating bowl. What else can I try ?

The carpet is getting grim.

And to quite Blackadder 'how did they manage to get so much sick out of such a small cat?'

Is that the kind of post you've been missing ?

lightlypoached · 18/03/2020 07:14

Eating too much. Ffs autocorrect

There is a whole sodding topic where everything about CV hoes, and it’s the busiest topic right now

By user request, it is not being allowed to leak into other topics

Then users can hide it (permanently. or for a couple of hours a day to enjoy virus free break)

But it soils it for everyone when threads (like this one) are started outside the topic
