I've name changed. I'm an occasional poster and a long time lurker. I'm in Madrid.

Are you allowed to go to the supermarket every day, or are you expected to only go at set times? Are the queues massive? Are you limited to how much you are allowed to buy?

@JemimaPuddleCat We can go everyday. Opening hours are slightly shorter. So now they are open 9- 8pm whereas previously it 9-9.30 pm.
Only a certain number of people are let in at a time. Everyone one else has to wait outside. So far I've been once and DH has been once and neither of us had to wait.

I think there are limits to what people can buy but people are not going overboard as far as I can tell.

The day they announced the schools were going to close (last Wednesday) there was definitely panic buying. It wasn't lockdown yet and I could barely get in my local supermarket. Things seem to have calmed down now.

As an aside. Online shopping has never been a big thing here. It is nowhere near as advanced as in the UK. Therefore there is not the general panic about online supermarket slots etc. I live in the middle of a city though, so I'm not sure what people living rurally are doing.

That's great information thanks @OnLockdown I wonder if we will follow something similar if/when we lockdown. I'm concerned about having to queue outside for long periods; I am disabled and can't stand for long, especially in one position. I might have to dig in the darkest depths of the shed for a fold up camping chair. Then I could at least bring some light humour to the crowds when I try to get out of it 😂

There's a similar thread started by a poster in France.
Some very useful information on there too.

Thanks @crapette I hadn't realised there was another one. I'll have a read.
