I can’t see it being delayed due to corona, in Italy moves are still happening. Anyone else in the same situation?

@OpposableThumbs2 this is me as well but in reverse (owned to rented) 200 mile relocation so run down all stocks in the freezer and cupboards! Had planned around 1 and 4 year old being out of the way on move day and DH camping with the kids and cleaning/tidying up walls where pictures and furniture attachments removed while I sorted the new house which we have not even seen from the inside.

Now looking at frantic cleaning and measuring session the night before the stuff arrives, assuming no temperature or cough related spanners get into the works in the 10 days until we go. Would love to get to new location already and put stuff into storage there but DH is stuck in his current job until the 31st (and flat is only available on 1st!

That sounds worse than ours, at least DH is working from home and we are only moving across the same village. Good luck.

random & opposable I feel you - we’ve been running everything down and didn’t expect to have the kids home.
We’re moving across town, went to see the house yesterday as the gent there wanted us to see how the alarm / boiler worked.
The removal company is still coming Thursday so 4 days to go as long as we don’t go into lockdown completely.
It’s all getting too close.

We keep second guessing whether we should get the movers in early and move to storage/serviced apartment awaiting rental flat start date on 1st April🙈. Would actually love DH's current job to say we're quiet, sod off so we can stop paying you to sit on your arse at home but somehow doubt they will.

If they do let him go early we'll thrown money at a flat for a week, no question.

Bloody 3 month notice periods - and bloody Christmas getting in the way of handing it in!

Fortunately we'll survive if the sale falls through so at least the only stress is getting to the new flat (contracts signed, rent in LL's bank but slightly worried existing tenants won't be out in time if they end up needing to self isolate for 14 days!

We’ve had to get storage because we’re assuming by the time we move there’ll be no movers left to help us!!

Enquires are all answered now. So no idea when we’re exchanging. Everything else has been done. Haven’t signed the contracts yet though. Please be soon, please be soon, please be soon.

Everyone in our chain is downsizing! Literally too excited but it’ll be weeks yet! I could cry
