Quick poll - are you still sending your pre-schoolers to nursery?
Canyoutellilikrchocolate · 17/03/2020 18:07
Spoken to a few people who are pulling pre-schoolers out of nursery.
I’m not looking for a big debate, just a quick Yes / No poll.
Are you still sending your pre-schoolers to nursery?
Sorry if this has been done already, I did look and couldn’t see a thread. Thanks
peekaboob · 17/03/2020 18:08
Yes she's still going. I asked today and they haven't had many stop going. Drop off and collection is different with only one family in at a time and at various doors but it's worked well today.
AnotherEmma · 17/03/2020 18:10
Yes
I'll send him until they close (or until any of us get symptoms, obviously)
Dreading having to entertain him without nursery or playgroups!
soloula · 17/03/2020 18:12
Yeah still sending my four year old. Council run nursery so just got mornings. Had an in/out system in place this morning. No parents allowed in the building at all - kids were handed over at the outside door. Lots of outdoor play. They had just over half the kids than normal today. Don't know who was self isolating or if kids had been kept home but expect that number to be fall more. Keeping a close eye on events but happy for her to keep attending atm.
Teacup34 · 17/03/2020 18:16
No. I've kept my three year old at home she's had a cold and a cough so I don't want her catching anything on top of that.

No, I've taken my 4 year old out. I'm 32 weeks pregnant and my grandparents are also in the vulnerable category.
Sexnotgender · 17/03/2020 18:24
I was but today was last day. We have an older child with serious underlying health conditions and trying to limit exposure.
RaspberryBubblegum · 17/03/2020 18:25
This should be in AIBU with poll but yes mine is still in nursery. Although I notice her class has halved in size in the last 2 days so some people are keeping them off.
MrsPerfect12 · 17/03/2020 18:26
Yes. Parents are not allowed in and children's hands are washed as soon as they're in.
Blewbell · 17/03/2020 18:31
No, DH is a frontline doctor. We are keeping ourselves isolated to cut down the chances of giving it to him.
looloo247 · 17/03/2020 18:33
We were planning to keep sending him but he's come down with a temperature and cough this evening so that's us isolated for 2 weeks. His nursery has to send a few home yesterday as well by the sounds of it. I'm a teacher so I'm hoping that schools close soon so me being off doesn't cause too much disruption for the children in my class
MabelMoo23 · 17/03/2020 18:35
Yes. Until we need to self isolate or nursery closed. I am working from home now and need my kids at nursery whilst they can so I work
LuluJakey1 · 17/03/2020 18:36
No, DD has had a cough since Saturday- which is much better today. So she is at home, as is DS1 (5).
AsAnActualWoman · 17/03/2020 18:43
@looloo247 advice is 7 days now

AsAnActualWoman · 17/03/2020 18:44
Well, sorry I mean 7 days for your child but 14 for you.
PseudoQuim · 17/03/2020 18:54
Yes, my 2 year old is still going. I'm in the high risk group with multiple conditions and have been told today that I can work from home, but for now we're still sending him.
Thetigeronthewobbelboard · 17/03/2020 18:55
Yes, he’ll be there until they close or we have symptoms!
looloo247 · 17/03/2020 18:55
@AsAnActualWoman thanks - I can't keep up with the advice at the moment!
hopelessatthinkingupusernames · 17/03/2020 18:57
Mine were in today but were sent home because one was coughing. Typically I haven’t heard him cough once since I picked him up 9hours ago, but I don’t blame the nursery. They’re just following advice. Not looking forward to 14days in the house though!
happymummy12345 · 17/03/2020 18:58
Yes my son is in a private nursery and will be going as long as possible
