Yep, I’m really struggling. I just want to wake up from what seems like a bad dream. If only it was a dream. Sad

I'm going to have a day of avoiding the news tomorrow. Last week I've just been obsessively going from Twitter to Facebook to news websites and it's not helping.

It is scary of course.

But I was much more anxious before today when it seemed the government weren't taking it seriously enough. I watched the measures being out in place in Spain, Italy etc and was despairing at the pathetic response here.

Now they are beginning to take action it feels slightly better.

Yep me too. I'm not worried about my own or family's health - everyone is ok and we are healthy so should stay that way. But I'm anxious anyway, just for the extent of the life change, for what will happen more widely etc etc. My husband is snoring away. I'm jealous

Me.
Confused, worried, scared. I'm asthamatic. So I'm to self isolate for 12 weeks?! I'm a HCP! I need to work. But then I need to not infect others. But am I at greater risk of catching? Or merely complications? Do I give to the NHS with one hand, and potentially take with the other?

Managers are going to lose minds tomorrow....

I'm so sorry to all of you who are pregnant or having to go into work (NHS staff, supermarket staff, chemists etc - we are so grateful for everything you're doing).

I'm a T1 diabetic who struggles with even common colds and mild infections ever since I had my baby a few years ago which has amped up my anxiety.

And then it's compounded by knowing sleep is important for the immune system but I'm too on edge to sleep!

I think it's partly also knowing there is literally nowhere on the planet to escape this. Can't even dream about going somewhere else. Also feeling v angry at how China behaved in those first crucial weeks when it tried to cover up what was happening.

@daisypond I'm so sorry. A close relative has just been diagnosed with cancer and I feel so sorry for them having to deal with both of these things at the same time.

Me. Just crying. So scared. My parents are elderly, dad has cancer and regularly visits the hospital for chemo. He's 69.

They live about an hour away but I'm in central London so I'm too scared to visit them incase I infect them unknowingly. I would never forgive myself.

I'm so scared.

I’m so scared. My parents are elderly and have had a terrible couple of years health wise (heart attacks, cancer, you name it). My son is very prone to coughs and chest infections (no confirmed underlying issues though).
This whole virus can fuck off.

Agree with you about China OP. And also angry with govt here for 2 things: today not demanding restaurants/pubs/entertainment venues close but just asking everyone to stay away - this will mean they cannot claim on insurance and more likely go bust; not aggressively testing people like in South Korea

Confessions

I'm feeling furious with the Chinese government tonight too.

What I will say to the people who I have seen are frightened of a complete lockdown. So far it has been quite uneventful really. We have been allowed out only to get food medicine or to walk the dog.

I do have an underlying health condition but I'm less frightened of catching it than I am of what will happen afterwards. It sounds ridiculous to say but I just don't know how the economy will cope.
I am a small business owner and I could come through 15 days but now I'm hearing it could be longer.

I’m with you, ladies. I do have some problems going on with my throat and nasopharynx that makes me panic anyway but this has cranked it up. And I have a 6 hour drive to do tomorrow. 🥴
