Anyone else hearing more ambulance sirens at the moment?
Smithtylater · 16/03/2020 20:03
Or is it just me?
Or maybe i just never noticed them as much before...finding it rather unsettling...
MrsMeg1 · 16/03/2020 20:06
Yes I thought this today, noticed loads going past my office with sirens on. Definitely more than normal.
mintandcoral · 16/03/2020 20:09
Loads going past our house at the moment (we live opposite a through road in the centre of a town). I felt the same, couldn't tell if I was just noticing them more! But there were 5 today.
FrankiesKnuckle · 16/03/2020 20:10
Because the call rate has shot up.
Mostly the worried well.
OddBoots · 16/03/2020 20:11
The reverse, we have many fewer than we used to, possibly because living near a main road towards an airport there is less traffic at the moment so the ambulances etc can get through without sirens.
Buggedandconfused · 16/03/2020 20:13
No and I live near a hospital in a city... less if anything!
Applejaxx · 16/03/2020 20:13
I live fairly near an ambulance station and hear them all the time. I can;t say Ive heard anymore than usual.
klaraday · 16/03/2020 20:14
I'm in scotland and thought this also but it could be I'm just noticing it and it is a bit quieter than usual so I'm perhaps hearing from further away? I also know two people who have died fron pneumonia in the past two weeks both elderly and ill but it makes you think.
ItsAHardKn0ckLife1 · 16/03/2020 20:16
Yes! I just said that to DH, it’s very noticeable
foamrolling · 16/03/2020 20:18
Less round here and I live round the corner from the hospital. Walked past it earlier and there were only 2 ambulances outside too and thays pretty unusual, it often has long lines of them queuing outside.
Moomin8 · 16/03/2020 20:19
Personally no but my area is one of the last to be hit. This time next week I imagine things will be different.
Lotuscup563 · 16/03/2020 20:19
Yes!!! 3 in my street today, all at different houses and at different times...no blue lights though.
YgritteSnow · 16/03/2020 20:19
In London. Yes lots more sirens and has been for about a week now.
catanplayer · 16/03/2020 20:22
I live on a main road and there's usually quite a few sirens going past, but I've heard fewer in the last week.
user1471453601 · 16/03/2020 20:32
No, I havent. I live a ten minute walk from our hospital, in the main road and I'm used to hearing blues and twos. I've really not noticed any increase.
Littleposh · 16/03/2020 20:33
I'd say less tbh, and my house is between 2 main roads, near the fire station where the responders are based and the hospital
Deelish75 · 16/03/2020 21:11
Less, and I live near to an ambulance station on a busy main road close to a massive hospital.
BobGalaxy · 16/03/2020 21:13
I thought this too, but wasn't sure if I was just being paranoid
Eireni · 16/03/2020 21:17
Greater London tbh there’s always loads of bloody sirens both where I live & work.
I have noticed quite a few ambulances attending homes near me though, that has felt more than usual, but perhaps it’s just confirmation bias that we notice things more at the moment.
