@Aria20 that's reassuring! I did notice that all the fabric scarves, parachutes etc smelled freshly washed each time we've been. Class numbers have dropped considerably since the first session though.

Hockeyboysmum · 16/03/2020 14:48

Yes. I'm due baby in 6 weeks and dreading baby groups etc all being cancelled. I know from having my first that my mental health really suffers when I cant get out to see people.

Aria20 · 16/03/2020 14:49

Yes @mamaof2girls we've also been asked for the babies to bring their own blanket and teddy too as they can't practically clean those between back to back classes but they do clean the musical instruments and other toys after each class.

Aria20 · 16/03/2020 14:51

@Hockeyboysmum it is a bit of a downer isn't it... we had something every morning except Wednesday so we used to visit my mum and Nan then but my mum is vulnerable on chemo and Nan 85 so we won't be visiting them very much incase we are harbouring anything and pass it on!

I went to one this morning- I Trust the group leader with hygiene and see her cleaning toys on a regular basis. I brought my own blanket. There were only two other families there...

Like someone else said, I won’t go to the big messy ones where I am not sure about hygiene, but I have two small baby groups where we look out for each other and the leaders are very careful. So I will keep going for the time being, making sure I’m not sitting too close and maintaining regular hand washing etc.

@jasquers No judgement either way everyone has their own decision to make. Just 'madness' at the whole bloomin' situation and how it has all escalated so rapidly!

RhymingRabbit3 · 16/03/2020 16:21

I'm planning to go to organised classes with limited numbers e.g. baby sensory, music bugs, swimming

I think I will avoid the informal church hall type groups for the time being. While logically I know there could be bugs spread from anyone anywhere, I think a large number of babies and children crammed into a small room and all licking the same toys seems like a bad idea. I also wont be taking my child to soft play areas for the foreseeable future!

Boris has now said pregnant woman to stay away from social gatherings/events now! X

We've just had a message saying baby sensory classes are cancelled until further notice :(
