There are, have always been, will always be scumbags willing to profit from others’ misery. Unfortunately they tend to crawl out from underneath their rocks in times of crisis.

Report them to Facebook - they are taking Coronavirus profiteering very seriously.

Still can’t see a link but I wouldn’t worry, if it’s re private hospitals providing beds. Steven Dorrell said just this morning on Marr that private facilities will be pressed into service in times of crisis. They won’t be paid more.

I would strongly support anti-profiteering laws. People who buy up & resell these things at a high profit at times like this are scum, IMO. And preying on people's vulnerabilities & worries is just as despicable.

Want to know what I'm using? Fruit & veg & trying not to eat too much processed shite. Blocked.

I reported a post this morning on my local FB from someone peddling ‘healing reiki from a distance.’

Some brain dead moron posted this on our local community page, and was then surprised by the fact, I referred to her as such, and suggested people boycott Avon.

I’m in a business owners group on Facebook. An antivax essential oil MLM-er posted some bullshit copy and paste the other day about the covid vaccine and told people to get in touch about buying her essential oils instead. She was, respectfully, challenged so she summoned an admin (her mate who’s believes the same woo), who declared that she should be allowed to post to open people’s minds, but challenging her dangerous, irresponsible views doesn’t seem seem to be allowed.

I’m no longer engaging with that group.

(I checked out this person’s profile and there’s a brilliant copy-paste about how we’ve all been breathing in “digital dust” from chemtrails and the 5G network is now activating it, which is what is making people poorly and being made out to be a virus. Utter, utter fuckwittery.)

I am also disgusted by eBay who continue to allow people to post half empty bottles of sanitiser at obscene prices. One has a 50 mil, half empty bottle of stuff on at a Buy It Now price of £120. I have seen bottles with a couple of Mil in them on sale. EBay don’t seem to be taking the, down.

You say that but at least its allowing some other the chance to buy hand sanitiser. Okay lots will be priced out of the market but at least some have the ability to buy.

I disagree with people purposefully going out buying it in bulk and then selling for profit, but if somebody happens to have some around the house I have no issue with them selling it at the new going rate. For all we know they might have just lost their income and have kids to feed.

If they don’t stop it, then the morally vacant will be filling little bottles with any old crud, and flogging it.

Where do you draw the line though ? I own a nursery and if the schools close in theory I could take 20 school aged children at £5 per hour £5,000 a week in additional turnover. Is that wrong ? I’ll need to buy extra equipment which will keep a couple of small businesses ticking over and it might keep front line workers in work. No doubt I’ll be hated though

It also reminds me of the scene in Schindlers list we’re the boy sells his chocolate for 100 quid or whatever. Your £100 won’t be any good to you where you’re heading

@MasakaBuzz I totally get what your saying and to some extent I agree but we seem to be keen to vilify indiviuals on ebay selling a products that most people dont even need. Yet all around the world year after year big pharmaceutical companies make billions in profit yearly selling drugs that people need to stay alive.

A couple of weeks ago, everyones favorite person with a surname that rhymes with "wanks" was busier trying to corner the market in iodine.

If you were increasing your prices over this, that would be an issue. If however you are allowing key workers to work by looking after their children, then being paid for that is not an issue.

Profiteering just revolts me. I picked up a couple of packets of paracetamol when I saw them, even though I had some. I bought them to give to a friend, as it’s the only painkillers she can stomach. I will refuse to take even the pennies they cost from her.

It’s probably just me.

To be honest even the food producers are doing it. Usually offers everywhere in Tesco on canned stuff. Not so much now!
