PLEASE EXCUSE THE FAIL LINK

Due to fly home Sunday.

They're talking about closing access by air, sea and road.

It says on the photo as of midnight last night no one can leave??

I can't find a conclusive report. An official one I mean rather than tabloid reports

I know it's hard but if he's making it his decision to stay, then make it his problem to sort out. Leave him to it. Let him deal with the consequences. Walk away and stop facilitating him being a manchild.

I've reached a place where if people won't heed the advice being given, they're on their own with the consequences. Not my monkeys, not my circus. There's enough to be dealing with at the moment without sorting out other people's avoidable problems.

YesThatsATurdOnTheRug · 14/03/2020 11:13

Do you rely on his income if he's stuck? That's my issue with my DH! He's in America and can't get an earlier flight, coming home late tonight so I just have everything crossed!

SixesandEights · 14/03/2020 11:13

Oh let him be stuck there fending for himself the idiot.

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 14/03/2020 11:14

Is this the prick who was going for a jolly against your advice/wishes?

Or a different prick? Grin

Helpme1010 · 14/03/2020 11:15

Fingers crossed he gets back

Hellsbells123098 · 14/03/2020 11:16

The President of Catalonia declared last night he wants to confine the province and close ports, stop flights and trains, but agreement is required from the Spanish government. A meeting is happening today and the results are expected this evening. Here is a link to the government website and a part translation below:

BTW I am in Catalonia

OnTheEdgeOfTheNight · 14/03/2020 11:21

You've done all you can. You need to forget about him now. At least you're not married to the stubborn idiot.

What is about some husbands being in denial about the seriousness of the Covid 19 situation?
I'm hearing this all the time - is it because they are trying to downplay so as not to worry relatives? Is it because they feel totally out of control?
I know my own husband thinks that he should be able to solve every problem that we face as a family & if he can't he doesn't cope well at all 😞

FourTeaFallOut · 14/03/2020 11:25

Let him stay there, op. He's clearly a liability.

Bulbosaur · 14/03/2020 11:27

It's the same prick. NC because of daily fail.

The relationship is over

Completely

Cohle · 14/03/2020 11:27

Leave him to it, the twat.

SixesandEights · 14/03/2020 11:28

Leave him to it then OP. If he does get out he'll expect to come home potentially spreading the virus around. You need to protect yourselves from that.

Bulbosaur · 14/03/2020 11:28

I am.

I'm going non contact. Had enough.

SixesandEights · 14/03/2020 11:30

Good for you. Good luck OPFlowersSmile

Hellsbells123098 · 14/03/2020 11:32

This must be really hard for you. But there is a lot of support here for you

SuckingDieselFella · 14/03/2020 11:33

Sorry to hear this, OP.

Jet2 have cancelled all flights to and from Spain. It's on their official facebook page.

SuckingDieselFella · 14/03/2020 11:35

Sorry, it says they've cancelled all flights out and they will try to fly customers back to the UK.

YesThatsATurdOnTheRug · 14/03/2020 11:36

Sounds like a typical ostrich. You're definitely better off without as he's been so inconsiderate of you all and society in general.

SunshineAvenue · 14/03/2020 11:40

So the same prick. Honestly leave him to it. He wants to get stuck there obviously. He gives no shits.

MotherofTerriers · 14/03/2020 11:41

Ignore him and focus on taking care of yourself and your kids
He can look after himself, with whatever support the authorities there put in place. You'd want him to self isolate for 2 weeks after he gets back anyway so he's not going to be any practical help to you.
Maybe look at separating finances asap - make sure he can't use all the money in a joint account if you need it for the kids. So take half out and put it in an account he can't access and contact the bank to stop him running up an overdraft you would have liability for

rrg1 · 14/03/2020 11:41

Renfe the train operator have just sent out an email detailing refunds and changes on tickets effected by coronavirus measures, so expect it maybe in anticipation of a Catalan lockdown.

Some Catalans are anticipating the decision maybe influence by politcal wrangling between Catalonia and Madrid, but who knows!!!!!!

Friends from Catalonia went on holiday to Murcia and are now locked down in Mazarron, with Guardia Civil controlling entry and exit. Basically Martial law being introduced.
Be careful what you wish for, those wanting more stringent measures!

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 14/03/2020 11:44

You be done the right thing.

wheresmymojo · 14/03/2020 11:47

You've done all you can.

He won't understand why you're leaving him over this and will make out you're mad but honestly it seems to have shined a rather large light on the fact that the man is a total knobber.

Irresponsible
Puts family last
Manchild
Stubborn fuckwit
...and a knobber.

In some ways it would serve him right to get stuck and have to figure out how to manage sleeping on the beach and begging for food for a month.
