DH going on a stag do to Barcelona on 2 Days. AIBU

to be annoyed this he is insisting on going? He is attending a cannabis festival with upwards of 20k people attending.

Many companies are pulling out but the organisers are refusing to cancel

So DH is going.

There's no wya I would attend a hen do abroad right now. I feel like he is being so selfish.

TBH, I’d be judging him more for going to a weed festival anyway but I realise that these days I’m in the minority for that.

I’d still go if I were him. I mean, unless you have some underlying conditions that would put you at higher risk if he did catch it. The chief medical officer was on the bbc earlier saying you’re better off outside even at a big event, than inside with more surfaces and risk of exposure.

We’re off on holiday next week and I’ve decided we’re better off going than staying home. There’s more Coronavirus cases here than there is there!!

It is selfish. The chance of picking up the virus at the airport, train or the huge festival is huge and much greater than if he stayed at home!

There are so many vulnerable people with chronic health conditions that we ALL should be thinking of.

I'm not bothered about the weed.

He has ongoing health issues that have improved 10 fold since he started smoking.

He was more out of it in the pain meds he was prescribed than he's ever been on the weedthe issue is its a huge event filled with people.

OP there is a section on the website about the corona virus. Sadly he is an adult and you can't make him stay - but I would worry about someone who put this before the health and safety of family. Plus how would corona impact in his health condition?

That is besides the point.

My issue is with him flying and attending such a busy event abroad.

YANBU- lots of conferences and festivals have been cancelled in the UK and Spain is much worse affected. Then there is the flight, airport etc. Maybe make him stay in a hotel for a fortnight when he gets back if he's going to be such a selfish idiot.

And that is relevant, how? The OP is talking about Spain. Which has the highest number of cases in Europe, apart from Italy.

Yes, the fifth most affected globally, the second in Europe. They have had a big increase in the number of cases in the last couple of days.

I don't know, loads of people are going to be going away this weekend for various stag dos, ski trips, city breaks all over Europe and beyond. If the govt really thought it was a terrible thing to do they would advise people not to travel.

TBH I don't really trust the government to do their best to protect the nation. Its not like they have a positive history of looking after the elderly and vulnerable.
