I usually book one Sunday night/Monday morning for Monday evening.

Just gone in and there's no slots till Friday Sad

Is this because people don't want to shop j store, in crowds?
I've never seen there be such a wait for delivery unless it's Christmas week!!

I have a recurring slot, every Saturday morning for £5 a month, unlimited deliveries.

Dongdingdong · 09/03/2020 18:24

The panic buyers and stockpilers are causing far more problems than the virus itself at the moment. If everyone just continued shopping as normal then we wouldn’t be in this mess.

Pascha · 09/03/2020 18:28

No problem with Tesco here. I can book any time tomorrow right now.

Babysharkdoodoodood · 09/03/2020 18:33

I get one every 10 days(ish) and have my Morrisons booked for 17and 28th. Then top up with fresh stuff as I need it. No problems with slots yet.

NormaLouiseBates · 09/03/2020 18:36

As pp said above, look at Amazon Prime Now, if it's in your area. Not quite the same levels of choice as Ocado etc but pretty damm good. Much better than Amazon Pantry. The stock levels are (I think) "live" so if it's not in stock you can't order it but once you've ordered there's no substitutes or missing items.

HaddawayAndShite · 09/03/2020 18:36

All my local supermarkets have deliveries this week, Asda still have every slot available tomorrow. Nothing was sold out in Lidl on Sunday. No one panicking in town on Saturday either. I’m starting to think half these posts about panic buying are someone / bots trying to generate panic.

PanicAtTheTesco · 09/03/2020 18:41

I got warned by my delivery driver that they've been much busier than usual, so booked by regular weekly slot after he left. There's nothing available here for Weds, but all slots accessible from Thurs onwards.

teenmumandsowhat · 09/03/2020 18:46

Haven’t actually bothered trying to book an online shop as with everyone’s panic buying a lot of the things we would usually buy are being restricted by the supermarkets or have sold out!

For example i have 2 dc with dairy allergies, they drink long life milk alternatives. And since we only do 2 big food shops a month we tend to buy at least 6 cartons at a time, as we use 2 cartons a week minimum.

Also one of my dc was ill last week, and even with a relative as a supermarket pharmacist we couldn’t get hold of calpol!

IndieTara · 09/03/2020 18:52

This morning I booked a slot with Tesco for Wednesday but so much of their food was out of stock I'm wondering if mine will be available come Wednesday

AnyFucker · 09/03/2020 19:21

This is where the toilet rolls should have been this evening at Asda. The panic buying is real.

I've just checked the Tesco app and the next available slot for me is Friday afternoon. I usually get my shopping delivered on a Friday morning and I book it on a Wednesday with no problem. I went shopping in-store last week because I didn't want to risk loads of stuff being unavailable come delivery and then having to go out to get it anyway. Looks like I'll be doing the same this week!

GooodMythicalMorning · 09/03/2020 19:24

booked a slot Sunday for what I thought was today and only realised when it didnt show that it is for tomorrow. usually there i loads of Monday slots so didnt consider there wouldn't be.

Nearlyoldenoughtowearpurple · 09/03/2020 20:47

Ocado website seems to be having real issues and crashing, hoping delivery slots but falling over.
Tesco in my area fine, booked for Friday but could have had earlier

YoursTunbridgeWells · 09/03/2020 21:08

Ocado = I can get a delivery night time tomorrow and Weds. Daytime - Sat.

Crunchymum · 09/03/2020 21:24

My Sainburys driver made me sanitise my hands before letting me sign for my shopping on Saturday just gone.

Thankfully the only thing missing was pickled onions Grin

wendz86 · 09/03/2020 21:26

I booked on Friday for tesco today . There were no slots for Ocado till Wednesday . Just checked Tesco again and nothing till Friday now .

Titslikepicassos · 09/03/2020 21:28

Ocado seems to have completely crashed now - I’m not a prepper, I can’t cope with this shit

NemophilistRebel · 09/03/2020 21:30

Pods still available on Waitrose

Crunchymum · 09/03/2020 21:30

This thread has made me check and earliest delivery for Sainsburys is now Friday.

Glad I checked as I usually start my order on the Weds for a Sat delivery. I imagine the Sat slots wont last very long so I've started my order today.

NemophilistRebel · 09/03/2020 21:30

Slots

SnoozyLou · 09/03/2020 21:37

All the slots are gone for Tesco until Saturday now. This is nuts.

SnoozyLou · 09/03/2020 21:39

Thankfully the only thing missing was pickled onions

Dear God, they're squirrelling away pickled onions now? What next? 🙂

KilljoysDutch · 09/03/2020 21:55

Ocado has no slots until Sunday, Monday is also out. Tesco have Thursday slots, Sainsburys also has slots on Thursday. We're in a low income area and haven't really seen evidence of panic buying. I saw another poster theorize that only well off areas are panic buying and it seems to have some truth behind it.

ThunderboltandLightning · 09/03/2020 22:08

Loads of slots available here with Sainsbury's, Tesco or Waitrose. The shops themselves are all empty though. Was going to do my routine trip to Costco this week for bulky items like kitchen towel, then saw the video footage of all the crazy people stripping it bare. We will make do with using our last year's Brexit stash for another few weeks and then I will top it up once the madness has settled.

weebarra · 09/03/2020 22:13

I'm not stockpiling but haven't done a proper shop in ages. Morrisons didn't have a slot until Thursday.
