Asda click and collect?

FlamingoAndJohn · 07/03/2020 10:15

I am the only one whose life is clearly dull as shit and has the same Ocado slot every week and books 3 weeks worth of slots at any one point in time?!

Nope. I have the same time same day and have done for about the last 10 years!! (But mine books itself, I don’t do it)
The sad thing is it’s Friday evening, it’s rare I have to change it.

goldpendant · 07/03/2020 10:19

Do tell how you get slots to book themselves??

Mammyloveswine · 07/03/2020 10:22

I ordered from Morrison's last night for tonight with no issues!

Although the nappies and baby wipes were not available...

ceeveebee · 07/03/2020 10:24

Hollybooboo - I have “Ocado reserved” which books my delivery every week at the same time and creates a typical order for me to edit. I’ve already got the next 3 weeks booked in.
Think leaving until the day before is pretty risky at any time not just now.

FlamingoAndJohn · 07/03/2020 10:26

Ocado Reserved.
You set up what time and day you want and what things you always want in the order. Then it works out what other stuff you might have run out of and adds that (for example you only need toilet roll every 3 weeks).
Then you edit the order.

Aragog · 07/03/2020 10:34

I've just set up Ocado reserved for fortnightly slots. Not,sure I need it week;y, but fed up not being able to,get my preferred day this week lol

Bonkersblond · 07/03/2020 10:35

My Tesco cancelled Thurs pm for an order which was due that evening! Got told to reschedule, no space until next Weds so had to go and do a shop yesterday pm! Not impressed, have another slot booked Thurs next week but half expecting that to get cancelled.

ceeveebee · 07/03/2020 10:39

And if anyone has never used Ocado before I have a code for a £20 off first shop (have to spend £80).

chicken2015 · 07/03/2020 10:44

Thank you to first person who replied i just got a waitrose delivery for monday morning , i was worried it would be a bit more as i take advantage of the flash sales with a lot of our food but not too bad.
Ive also checked back on my emails and didnt receive an email from ocado about delivery slots going fast

I never got a email either OP I ordered my shopping Sunday but couldn't get it delivered till Wednesday because there wasn't a slot before then.I only shop with them because they keep giving me a £20 off voucher and I got a free tea towel this week to which was a bit random!.

FlamingoAndJohn · 07/03/2020 11:41

@funkylittleboatrace
I often get random extra stuff by accident in my order.
The annoying thing is that they are always meat and we are vegetarian!
I spoke to Ocado who said it was just mistakes and not a purposeful gift.

Orangeblossom78 · 07/03/2020 11:44

Iceland do free delivery over £35, I did an order with them the other day quite good for stuff for the freezer, frozen veg, etc don't use them very often but good for pasta, store cupboard stuff also.

ZarkingBell · 07/03/2020 11:45

I use ocado reserved too. Had the same weekly slot for years Grin.

The coronavirus effect meant there weren't any of the packs of 12 tins of baked beans for a fiver, nor for next week. That's my usual order and all the panicking buggers have snaffled them 😷.

RoseMartha · 07/03/2020 12:02

@HollyBollyBooBoo

Dd with asd here too.

I have done this for years with Tesco online. Started when I left it too late near Christmas one year and now always book three slots at any one time. Although i do sometimes miss a week if I only need a bread and milk and fruit shop which happens some weeks as we have enough food from previous weeks .

I always spend about the same which is just over min spend.

Skyejuly · 07/03/2020 12:38

Tesco had lots.

manicinsomniac · 07/03/2020 13:22

I just went to edit my order for something and a lot of the things I have already got in my basket are now out of stock. They're still 'in my basket' but I assume they won't actually arrive. I normally only book one day in advance so never actually come across this problem before! I suppose just because you order something on Thursday, there's no guarantee you can have it on a Monday!

Nanasueathome · 07/03/2020 14:47

My ocado order came this morning
All present and correct

theneverendinglaundry · 07/03/2020 15:12

I've just gone to ocado to book my payday delivery. I tried to order 3 packs of loo roll (usual monthly amount, I'm not stockpiling!) but it's only letting me add 2 to the trolley. I'm glad to see that they are being sensible and rationing items to make it fair for all.

FlamingoAndJohn · 07/03/2020 16:24

I guess that’s one advantage to the retailers of online shopping. It makes it very easy to ration products without the need for confrontation.

ceeveebee · 07/03/2020 17:35

manicinsomniac I’m hoping that once it’s in your basket, it should be reserved for you as it’s a warehouse not a supermarket. So although items showing out of stock for everyone else (and you won’t be able to add more) hopefully if their systems work properly should not be missing - but difficult to know in these unprecedented times! Will let you know when my order arrives tomorrow morning!

manicinsomniac · 07/03/2020 17:44

Thanks ceeveebee

UntamedWisteria · 07/03/2020 17:47

Done an Ocado shop for next week. No free delivery slots at all (which I usually choose).

Out of stock of red lentils and many brands of pasta!

Branster · 07/03/2020 18:01

Ridiculous, it’s their fault for sending out that email the other morning (Tuesday, Wednesday? I can’t remember).
There is a lot of choice for home delivery services of groceries and some offer click &collect as well.

Branster · 07/03/2020 18:04

But if you rely (by choice not by necessity) on a home grocery delivery service as stock keeps running out, how do you know you’ll even get half of your order delivered?
It might be in stock at the time of placing the order but there’s no guarantee they’ll have the item at the time of delivery.
