Seeing at lot on various threads this week that people are stocking up on bottled water.

WHY?

Am I missing something? Are we going to go full Walking Dead with the fall of society?

Personally I bought 25l of water because we have a dodgy pipe at the end of our road which has burst twice since New Year leaving us without water for 8 hours each time.

It loosely relates to COVID-19 as that could slow the speed of fixes if a bunch Thames Water folk are off work ill.

I bought some bottled water purely because if I am ill I don't want to have to trudge downstairs to get water, especially as tap water here tastes unpleasant, especially after it's been standing. This way I can have some next to my bed.

Same as above - I bought some small bottles in case we are ill with CV.

When I had flu my DH would fling a bottle of water and some painkillers at me through the bedroom door and then make a quick getaway - to avoid coming in the room or having to touch/wash/refill any cups which had my germs on. Much easier to have some bottled water
