As eyes are turned towards the U.S. /Israel war in Iran, the situation for Palestinians in the West Bank continues to be dire.

This headline caught my eyes- young parents and two of their children shot in the head by Israeli soldiers. They were shopping for clothes for Ramadan. The Israeli forces then initially prevented an ambulance reaching the family. One of the soldiers said referred to killing “dogs.”

The Israeli settlers are continuing to kill innocent Palestinians and road blocks are continuing.

We can’t forget that Israel is behaving like this towards innocent Palestinians.

Their legal system allows these crimes to go on unchecked. Even a video of torture of a Palestinian civilian prisoner (conveniently released without a statement and unable to engage in prosecution) was insufficient for Israeli soldiers to be prosecuted.

This.

I agree.

The killing is tragic and needs a thorough investigation into the individuals who shot this family in their car.

There won't be though. 'I hope it will be thoroughly investigated' are just empty meaningless words at this point a poster from Israel should know this better than anyone.

Like it or not Israel practices racial segregation, part of this is that Palestinians are killed with impunity by the IDF and by Israeli civillians ie settlers in the West Bank. There are different rules and different courts depending on your race. It's shit and I wish we didn't have to talk about the racist practices of the Israeli state. I wish we didn't have to talk about another family being attacked and killed by Israel, I wish we could know with certainty that those surviving boys will get justice for their dead family but the opposite is true we know with 99% certainty that they won't. It is disgusting that these are truths but they are and we shouldn't have to censor talking about it because it makes some people uncomfortable, if they are put off posting because someone thinks it is evil that a government practices racial segregation and kills young families with impunity then it says more about them tbh.

More than 99 percent of complaints of harm done to West Bank Palestinian civilians by Israeli soldiers in recent years were closed without indictment, according to data newly released by the Military Advocate General’s Office.
Among the allegations of wrongdoing, most of which were never fully investigated, were 696 complaints over incidents in which Palestinians were killed by IDF action, as well as incidents in which civilians sustained life-altering injuries from gunshot wounds, suffered beatings, or had their property looted or damaged by IDF soldiers.

". I seriously dislike Hamas, its ideology and its methods but, in the face of a divine mission, what's it supposed to do? 😭"

Not what it did on October 7th.

The irony is that a society thst has accepted and celebrated the abuse of other human beings is itself at threat. Imagine knowing your dad/mum/sister was capable of this? What does that do?

I always wonder about this when I see this type of horrific news story. How does it go when the soldiers policing racial segregation and occupation go back to their families? Do they tell them that they shot up a family that day and then terrorised the children they didn't kill, that they protected settlers as they terrorised people to try and drive them out of their homes, that they stood over a boy and watched him bleed to death making sure no medics could get to him to make sure he died? Surely not?! I imagine it's a case of what happens at 'work' stays at work, you'd be too ashamed to say out loud what you do. There again the IDF had to tell their soldiers to stop bragging and laughing on social media about the killings and destruction they were taking part in in Gaza so who knows.

Ah yes that modern moral democracy that condones gang rape that punctured a mans rectum.

Netanyahu called the rapists "heroic warriors" .
Anybody who votes him in and agrees with this should be ashamed .

WTH? And Netanyahu said what? This is all beyond horrific. I feel sick.

Israel have decided to not even question the officers who killed this family. As I stated up thread there was a 99% certainty that Israel would not do a thorough investigation, unfortunately that has borne true. The Bani Odeh family will never get justice.

https://www.haaretz.com/opinion/editorial/2026-03-23/ty-article-opinion/a-palestinian-family-is-gunned-down-and-no-one-will-be-questioned/0000019d-1753-d362-a7fd-1fd368b20000

The Justice Ministry department that probes allegations of police misconduct decided not to question the officers because the evidence supports their claim that they fired "out of fear for their lives."

It's unbelievable. An undercover unit hides behind a wall at night, a car whose passengers are unaware of the policemen emerges – witnesses say the car was driving slowly, its windows open, so that it was easy to see who was inside – and the Border Policemen shower it with bullets.

The officers did not call on the car to stop, did not fire into the air or at the vehicle's tires; rather, they immediately began shooting dozens of bullets at innocent passengers. Waad Othman Bani Odeh, her husband Ali Khaled Bani Odeh and their sons Othman, 7, and Mohammed, 5, died at the scene. Khaled, 11, and Mustafa, 8, survived. Khaled told Haaretz later that the officers beat him after they killed his parents and his two youngest brothers

This is the ‘state doctrine’ as reported by UN yesterday. The abuse and terror is systematic across the occupied territories and feeds into a genocidal policy. What more does the UK government need to know before it withdraws support and begins to sanction?

Disgusting. Not surprised, sadly.

Of course Israel hate the UN so they will just cry “anti semitic”. And our Government will continue to turn a blind eye.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/mar/25/no-israel-prosecutions-for-killing-palestinian-civilians-in-occupied-west-bank-since-start-of-decade

Not a single prosecution this decade for Palestinians killed in the West Bank yet people still give meaningless platitudes like 'I hope there is a thorough investigation' in full knowledge of the fact that there won't be. My question to those people is what now? There hasn't been a thorough investigation, there has been no investigation and there won't be one so what now?

This family is just reduced to another statistic, another family that shows up on Google when you search Israel kills family in car because there are multiple families who show up in that search and not a single conviction for any of them.

It's not good enough.

No Israel prosecutions for killing Palestinian civilians in occupied West Bank since start of decade

Dozens of former Israeli military, police and spy chiefs describe situation as ‘organised Jewish terrorism’

I saw Matt Frei pressing the Israeli opposition leader on this last night on Channel Four news. That guy actually tried to turn it around that it was Palestinians attacking settlers!! Ffs! 🙄 So even if there was a new Government in Israel the settler violence and land grabbing will clearly be allowed to continue.

“I stand behind IDF soldiers in every situation. Even if the collateral damage is children or women — it does not matter to me,”
“In Jenin, there are no innocent civilians. In Jenin, there are no innocent children."

The words of Israeli politician Yitzhak Kroizer, given the prosecution rate for killings of Palestinians in the West Bank, including the killing of children is at zero for this decade one can only surmise that this view is widely held by those in charge. They stand behind IDF soldiers in every situation, children or women being killed, it doesn't matter to them.

They have made no secret of it, the murders and terror in the West Bank is fully supported, encouraged and likely financed by the Israeli government regime
