Dozens Killed in Last 24hrs Despite Trumps Order to Stop Bombing

Dozens have been killed in Gaza the past 24 hours in spite of Donald Trumps order for Isreal to stop the bombing. But it’s Hamas who don’t want peace apparently.

It's awful how the IDF are still murdering so many Palestinians. Is this a last attempt to kill as many as they can get away with under the guise of 'defence' before the ceasefire takes place?

ClockworkGoose · 05/10/2025 09:20

I honestly don’t know what to think of this but it is not the first time the IDF carried on bombing during ceasefire negotiations then wonder why Hamas refused to negotiate. I think Netanyahu will predictably just explain this away as defensive killing.

The IDF have been killing civilians in Lebanon since their ceasefire last year and America who guarantees it refuses to enforce it.

Unfortunately with Israel the deal seems to be you Cease they fire.

HellsBalls · 05/10/2025 10:50

Has Hamas agreed to the ceasefire yet? If not, they are still at war.

they’ve agreed to hand over the hostages, so the “if they just hand the hostages over it would all be over” brigade better start piping up soon I should think

No they haven't.

Last night Israel agreed to an initial withdrawal line (the same one shown on the peace plan) and the ball is now with Hamas to agree to start phase one also.

Trump wrote on Truth Social: “After negotiations, Israel has agreed to the initial withdrawal line, which we have shown to, and shared with, Hamas.”

Hamas has not confirmed, the president added. But if Hamas does, the ceasefire will be effective “immediately” and the hostages and prisoner exchanges will begin.

Hamas haven't yet commented whether the initial withdrawal line shown on the peace plan (the yellow line on the map which is outside Gaza city) is acceptable to them.

They partially agreed the peace plan but didn't comment on several clauses, so we are waiting for their agreement on this clause.

Once Hamas confirm their agreement to the withdrawal line there should be a ceasefire.

So as per, it’s all Hamas fault Isreal killed dozens last night I guess.

As usual, people don't understand how things work. In a war talk of ceaesefire happens before the fire ceases. Its called negotiation. It is normal. All the parts of the plan have not yet been fully agreed, guarantees in place etc. Therefore the war continues. This happens in pretty much every war.

Either this is the first war people have ever taken notice of, and they don't understand how things work. In which case you have to ask, what is it about this war that piqued your interest?

Or they do know how things work but for some reason expect Israel to behave differently, to some sort of different, higher standard?

I’m guessing you didn’t hear the bit where Trump ordered Israel to stop bombing?

Aw does it upset you for Hamas to get blamed for things? That's 3 times you've minimised their behaviour on this thread and you only have 3 posts!

They can take a bit of criticism... Actually they can't and would probably behead me or something if they could.

I would say Hamas and the IDF have to share responsibility for the people getting killed since 7/10/23.

Had Hamas indicated a full agreement with the peace plan, there would already be a ceasefire. But they didn't - it was a partial agreement from them.

Let's hope they agree to the withdrawal line mentioned above today, eh? That would show that they really want the fighting to stop ASAP.

ClockworkGoose · 05/10/2025 12:43

I haven’t minimised anything. You’re quite welcome to ignore the thread. Perhaps save the personal attacks for the other threads you spend 23hrs a day flooding with posts.

We all heard that bit and it would have been good if the IDF had stopped fighting. They claim they are only fighting defensively now but I don't know?

What would really help would be if Hamas started commenting on all the different clauses of the peace plan including the first withdrawal phase. For Trump's plan to work both sides have to meet in the middle, and to be fair, Israel has now agreed to withdraw to a position outside Gaza city as per phase 1. What has Hamas actually done yet? Nothing.

ClockworkGoose · 05/10/2025 12:45

Well it’s kind of rather important. Hope that helps.

Neither Netanyahu or Hamas want peace. The Palestinians are just collateral damage to them (and to some regular posters here).

anniegun · 05/10/2025 13:00

Israel will continue to murder people . They just want to exterminate Palestinians in Gaza and elsewhere. A genocidial government

I agree about the collateral damage but it's Hamas who you would expect to be concerned about the lives of the people they are supposed to be representing.

At least Netanyahu cares about Israeli lives. It's fair to assume Hamas don't.

I'm beginning to think that some posters also see the Palestinians as just collateral damage too. The ones that don't seem interested in potential peace.

I hope the next leaders of Israel and Palestine have regard for Palestinian lives
Given the long and complex nature of the fued I can't see any hope of a lasting peace until both sides can recognise the others shared humanity.

Amen to that.

Trump is not the king of the world he thinks he is. Netanyahu didn’t take instructions from Biden, so he isn’t going to do it with Trump. Netanyahu doesn’t even listen to himself. He will agree to an agreement and then days later completely disagree with the same agreement, and unilaterally break it.

I do sometimes wonder whether Netanyahu has full mental capacity because of his recent contradictory behaviours and irrational responses to international criticism.

@Twiglets1 i think Netanyahu has shown complete disregard for the lives of Israeli hostages.
There is no excuse for the IDF’s continued bombing of a trapped civilian population,
