Israel kills pregnant aid worker and two infant children in airstrike

A 27-YEAR-OLD aid worker and her two young children were killed by an Israeli strike last week.
Tasneem, a psychologist with Oxfam Ireland-linked aid organisation Juzoor, and her two children, five-year-old Sham and three-year-old Suleiman were killed when an Israeli airstrike struck an apartment building on Saturday.
Tasneem was pregant when the strike occurred. Her husband was critically injured following the airstrike and is currently in intensive care.
The couple had already lost their son, Muslam, in a previous attack last year.

Tasneem joined Juzoor in January 2025. According to humanitarian organisation CARE, she worked at a school shelter for displaced people in Al-Daraj neighborhood of Gaza City, supporting children who lost their homes, and many of whom lost parents and friends or sustained life changing injuries.

Despite knowing the risks, Tasneem chose to remain in Gaza City to continue serving her community.

Oxfam Ireland CEO Jim Clarken described Tasneem as “a dedicated humanitarian, working under unimaginable conditions to support others”

“Words cannot express the depth of our sorrow and outrage at the deliberate killing of Tasneem, her two young children, and her unborn baby,” Clarken said.

Since October 2023, the World Health Organization (WHO) has documented over 720 attacks on healthcare institutions in Gaza, with at least 1,580 health workers killed and as yet unknown numbers arrested and detained by Israel.

This isn’t abstract maths- Gaza is losing thousands of children right now, one of the highest child death tolls in any conflict in recent decades, and it’s the Israel military causing it.

And it's Hamas that is causing it

October 7th was horrific, but not a war crime under international law. I assume you don’t spend much time reading or working in law?

I guess you don't

'This article analyses the October 7th 2023 Hamas attack on Israel through the lens of the Genocide Convention, arguing that these actions constitute genocide under international law. Drawing on international case law, the analysis demonstrates how Hamas’ actions meet both the physical element and specific intent requirements for genocide, evidenced by its ideology, systematic policies and leadership statements. The article also examines how reverse accusations of genocide against Israel have functioned as a rhetorical shield to deflect recognition of Hamas’ own genocidal actions. It analyses the legal implications for state parties and the international community.'

If it's so awful tell Hamas to free the hostages and end the war.

Funny how the same logic never seems to apply to Israel. Tens of thousands of children are being killed right now- not as a result of Hamas, but as a direct result of Israel’s attacks. No hostage-taking, no terror attacks, just civilians, including infants and toddlers. Protecting children is non-negotiable under international law. Blaming the victims for not ending the war themselves is absurd.

Hamas aren't the victims, and if protecting children is non-negotiable under international law, where is the condemnation and global pressure on Hamas for openly using civilians as human shields? Where is your condemnation and pressure on Hamas to stop putting children at risk? And why stop there, where's the pressure on Hamas to stop the war? They have agency, or is this the racism of low expectations again?

Only one side is systematically levelling cities, starving civilians, and killing tens of thousands of children. Pointing out Israel’s deliberate actions doesn’t absolve Hamas of their crimes. It just calls out the scale and intentionality of the devastation. Global pressure on Hamas is ongoing, but it doesn’t justify Israel’s own breaches of international law or the mass killing of children. Accountability isn’t a zero-sum game.

There are a lot of child civilian casualties, which is to be expected when Hamas hides in schools and civilian shelters. In no other war has a supposed government deliberately used their own people as human shields on a scale such as this

If it doesn't absolve Hamas of their crimes, why are you so strangely silent? Where are your posts criticising Hamas? Instead of criticising people who are rightly condemning Hamas for not ending the war, why aren't you also condemning them?

Hamas isn't paying any attention to global pressure because they're a power hungry death cult openly willing to martyr their entire population. That is what Israel is dealing with and what it has to protect it's citizens from

The classic ‘Hamas are the only problem, so ignore everything else’ line.

I’ve literally said multiple times that Hamas committed horrific crimes. Pointing out that Israel is deliberately bombing cities, starving civilians, and killing tens of thousands of children doesn’t erase that fact. Condemning one side’s crimes doesn’t magically absolve the other. But thanks for explaining again that you prefer moral arithmetic over actual accountability.

You denied there were war crimes on October 7th and have described it as ridiculous that Hamas should have to end the war. Not much accountability for them. No wonder they aren't paying any attention to global pressure when they have so many people ready to make excuses for them. I am not sure if people sympathise with terrorists or if its' racism, that they just can't be expected to do any better.

Even in the pro-Palestinian marches where you'd think every participant would support Palestinians they are strangely silent on what Hamas is doing to them. Not a single critical placard. Although that's not strictly true. I did see a video a while back of someone holding an anti-Hamas placard and the pro-Palestinians attacked him! It was on NewsNowYorkshire's YouTube channel

Wow, that’s a lot of projection. I’ve literally condemned Hamas repeatedly. Pointing out that Israel is wiping out families, starving civilians, and killing tens of thousands of children doesn’t cancel out that condemnation. Maybe try reading the thread before accusing others of ‘making excuses’. It’s almost impressive how quickly some people twist reality to avoid holding the obvious perpetrators accountable.

RandomWordsThrownTogether · 26/09/2025 19:37

Some of the Israeli arm chair soldiers are not worth talking to - they are so indoctrinated they don’t want to listen to facts, just parrot misinformation and act as brainless cheerleaders for genocide. It is boring. I can’t wait for the war crime charges to drop and these war criminals to go to their promised prison cells!
