Israel kills pregnant aid worker and two infant children in airstrike

A 27-YEAR-OLD aid worker and her two young children were killed by an Israeli strike last week.
Tasneem, a psychologist with Oxfam Ireland-linked aid organisation Juzoor, and her two children, five-year-old Sham and three-year-old Suleiman were killed when an Israeli airstrike struck an apartment building on Saturday.
Tasneem was pregant when the strike occurred. Her husband was critically injured following the airstrike and is currently in intensive care.
The couple had already lost their son, Muslam, in a previous attack last year.

Tasneem joined Juzoor in January 2025. According to humanitarian organisation CARE, she worked at a school shelter for displaced people in Al-Daraj neighborhood of Gaza City, supporting children who lost their homes, and many of whom lost parents and friends or sustained life changing injuries.

Despite knowing the risks, Tasneem chose to remain in Gaza City to continue serving her community.

Oxfam Ireland CEO Jim Clarken described Tasneem as “a dedicated humanitarian, working under unimaginable conditions to support others”

“Words cannot express the depth of our sorrow and outrage at the deliberate killing of Tasneem, her two young children, and her unborn baby,” Clarken said.

Since October 2023, the World Health Organization (WHO) has documented over 720 attacks on healthcare institutions in Gaza, with at least 1,580 health workers killed and as yet unknown numbers arrested and detained by Israel.

Israel's government places value on the lives of it's citizens. Gaza's government is happy to martyr all their citizens and their leaders openly say so on TV

Members of the Israeli. government give absolutely no shits about the Gazan and Palestinians and want them gone so they can have the land.

They openly say so on TV.

It's far more comprehensive than just dropping leaflets. Actually go and research it

Ok, so don't displace people. Let them live in a war zone? Would that be better?

Honestly, it's laughable that some people expect there to be no civilian casualties in an urban war. Welcome to the real world. Again, the responsibility for this happening lays solely with Hamas. What did they, or anyone else, expect to happen after the October 7th massacre and promising to repeat it until Israel ceased to exist? It's become existential for Israel, they have a duty to protect their citizens from further massacres by a jihadist death cult.

No one is excusing the deaths of anyone apart from pro-Palestinians who blame October 7th on Gaza apparently being 'besieged', as if anything justifies such a massacre. If you think there's no justification for the war, despite there being threats of further massacres of Israelis, then there was certainly no justification for October 7th being committed by Palestinians. I say Palestinians because it wasn't just Hamas. They may have planned it and broken down the barrier at the border but it was ordinary Palestinians who had spied on their Israeli employers for years and fed back detailed information to Hamas, and thousands of Palestinian citizens poured into Israel behind Hamas on October 7th

You keep framing this as if the civilians being slaughtered are somehow responsible for Israel’s choices. Let’s be clear- deliberate mass civilian deaths are not collateral damage, they are a conscious strategy. Blaming the victims doesn’t make it lawful, moral, or defensible.

Wedonttalkaboutboris · 26/09/2025 18:25

Maybe @PollyPaintsFlowers should stick to painting flowers instead of trying to justify the slaughter of children.

You are being a bit silly now. We are already seeing this scenario play out.

The horrors of 7/10 that impacted every Israeli made the suffering in Gaza now justifiable in the minds of many Israelis.

Nothing justified 7/10, nothing justifies this response.

I am showing it works both ways. MidnightScroller's argument was that any further violence from the aid worker's husband would be understandable, maybe even to be sympathised with. Well then, after the violence of October 7th maybe all this war is understandable and maybe even to by sympathised with.

Israelis are people too, just like Palestinians. I know that and October 7th are inconvenient facts for those who can't step outside of their Palestinians are powerless and innocent and Israelis are big, bad and evil mindset.

And what is this response? Getting rid of the terrorist organisation that planned and carried out October 7th and promised further massacres? I think that's pretty understandable and to be sympathised with. Because Israelis deserve to live in peace, safety and security. A pox on all Hamas' houses for bringing this down on their people so they can't have the same

Free the hostages.

You're right. That's why I blame the government they elected. The same government that planned this war, uses innocent civilians as human shields as a deliberate military strategy and won't bring the war to an end

Although I do also blame the Palestinian civilians who spent years spying on their Israeli employers, and the thousands of them who poured into Israel on October 7th, murdering, raping, mutilating and kidnapping. They also helped start this war

Wedonttalkaboutboris · 26/09/2025 18:29

66,054 casualties, including enemy combatants, out of a population of 2.1 million in a war that has spanned two years shows that you have no understanding of what indiscriminate actually means

Cute maths.
Except 20,000 are children.

Approximately 70% of the fatalities in Gaza are women and children.

When it's a few children then maybe it could be attributed to an error? But when children have been disproportionately affected, it raises serious concerns.

In TWO YEARS, Palestinian children account for 30% of the death toll (so far). A rough comparison:
Syria 2011-23 5-6%
Yemen 2015-2023 10-15%
Iraq 2003-2011 9%

Why has baby formula been withheld from entering? Combined with statements from Israeli leaders and officials, a disturbing pattern emerges.

Imagine reading about a pregnant aid worker and her children being blown apart and thinking the clever response is ‘blame Hamas.’

Also imagine being so ignorant about the History of what happened to uninvolved Germans after World War 2:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b05x30lb

"When the Second World War ended, the people of liberated Europe celebrated their freedom from Nazi tyranny. Their years of suffering had ended, but for millions of Germans, the end of the conflict opened a new and terrible chapter.

The Savage Peace reveals the appalling violence meted out to the defeated, especially to those ethnic Germans who had lived peacefully for centuries in neighbouring countries. Using rare and unseen archive film, the documentary tells a harrowing story of vengeance against German civilians, which mirrored some of the worst cruelty of the Nazi occupiers during the years of war. The Savage Peace includes the unique testimony of eyewitnesses and victims, who recall the horrors with searing clarity, their memories undimmed 70 years after the events took place. This a story that has, until now, been untold amidst the justified celebration of an end to an unspeakable tyranny. But as the writer George Orwell said, the treatment of the defeated Germans was a terrible crime that has gone unpunished"

BBC Two - 1945: The Savage Peace

Documentary on the treatment of Germans in former occupied countries after World War II.

Most of the people alive in Gaza today weren’t even born in 2006, when Hamas was elected.

Targeting aid workers has no military advantage

Israel targets aid workers and HCPs because when you're trying to exterminate a group of people, those who work keeping them alive are the enemy. It is illegal and a war crime.

The only real solution to this is to obliterate both Israel and Palestine so no one can live there. But that won’t happen so perpetual war is the likely future.

itsnotveryfriendlyhereisit · 26/09/2025 18:40

What I have a problem with is you constantly equating the support for Palestine is because everyone hates Jewish people. And you pop up on threads to say this yet again and again. People support the poor Palestinian people because they are stuck in a rock and a hard place, have had no control over their own country and boarders, and have been consistently bombed, displaced, dehydrated and starved for the past two years. It has NOTHING to do with people hating Jews.

October 7th was horrific, but not a war crime under international law. I assume you don’t spend much time reading or working in law?
