I'm not sure why you started another new thread for this - you just started a sort-of-similar one an hour or so ago?

Starmer has already broken from Trump over Palestinian recognition, in a manner seemingly intended to pressure Trump in a way that doesnt compromise his fragile ego.

I agree that a public pressure campaign in the US could be helpful. On the positive side, public opinion has markedly turned (on the left and the right) in the US in recent weeks, and there are some indications of Trump feeling the pressure.

I appreciate that it would be cathartic to see Starmer call out the US directly or take a harder stance against Israel but, pragmatically, I don't think that's likely to achieve desired results.

I mean, thats palpably untrue. The UK had a large hand in creating the mess in the first place, and continues to sell arms to Israel.

Even if you want to take the view that "history is history" and the UK's current involvement is marginal, the US is THE major supplier of Israeli arms and, through a joint initiative with Israel, has supplanted the UN and other aid agencies with the so-called Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, which has seen US personnel commit war crimes in Gaza.

The US, in particular, is as culpable for the current crisis as Israel.

But no mention of Hamas, Islamic Jihad, the PA, Egypt, Qatar, Iran, other states and organisations in the region, North Korea, Russia. Why is noone else ever responsible?

I suppose it depends on whether you want to analyse the situation as it is, or just construct an argument to blame Israel, US and UK. If its the latter I'll leave you to it, though what it will add to all the other threads doing the same, I have no idea.

Of course the wider regional dynamics matter. But right now, it’s Israel that’s actively controlling the borders, blocking aid, and deliberately starving a civilian population.

Interesting how asking Israel not to starve 2 million people gets treated like a biased or incomplete analysis.

They don’t care about your marches or protests. All wars are funded and profited by the same people on both sides. I wish people would wake up. Your government loves a war as they are puppets of the very people who profit from it. Wars are also a good opportunity to distract the sheep and launder money.

If that was true, they wouldn’t have needed to do that.

Well yes if there were so many starving people as we're told, they should have no shortage of people to photograph and wouldn't have to use photos of children with underlying medical conditions, thus causing a lot of scepticism.

I’ve seen lots of evidence of starvation. I’ve seen enough malnourished and starved babies to last me a lifetime. I don’t want to share all of the distressing and triggering images but I can point you in the direction of sources?

All the images that have been circulated are of children with underlying medical conditions, so sick children being used as propaganda.

I, for one, am thankful there are no images of real starvation, which are not linked to medical conditions, except from the hostages being held in Gaza of course.

Also the figures of deaths from malnutrition is increasing daily from July 20th, unfortunately the impact of food shortages for the past 6 months is beginning to be seen in deaths.

There are fully stocked cafes and restaurants/ food stalls open In Gaza today as evidenced by their own business Instagram accounts.

Article below includes statistics, the figures speak for themselves. There has also been plenty of footage on bbc, sky and C4 news reports if you want to inspect them to find the right kind of starving child to satisfy you. Maybe also reflect a little on what you are asking for here.

Ah but unless the UN and the other NGOs have reported it, it didn’t happen.

Actual videos on X (because the MSM won’t publish them) clearly showing restaurants, cafes and markets open fully stocked and thriving, are not credible unless they depict anti Israel propaganda.

Just like the videos showing the thousands of tonnes of food rotting inside Gaza because the UN didn’t distribute it, the baby formula which was taken into Gaza, and Hamas hijacking the aid lorries.

Details of her death: Zainab died of severe malnutrition, weighing less than she did at birth. She was allergic to cow’s milk but could not access the special formula she needed due to the blockade and medical shortages. Her mother, also malnourished, survived.

You can google what she looked like by her death- I don’t want to post it.

Not sure why the deaths of babies who were unable to get specialist formula don’t count. Do milk allergies count? My youngest has a milk allergy- would her death not have counted if her formula were blocked at the border?
