How warped are you to believe the propaganda machine of a terrorist group?

The fact that images of sick children were used to portray starvation says it all doesn’t it?

You're too entrenched to even bother engaging with

Mohammad Mustafa Yassin (age 4)

Name: Mohammad Mustafa Yassin
Age: 4 years old
Location: Gaza City, Gaza Strip
Date: ~ 25 May 2025 (when he died)

Details of death:
Mohammad died from severe malnutrition after enduring prolonged hunger. According to Al‑Ahli Arab Hospital medics, his body showed clear signs of starvation, and doctors identified the blockade and food shortages as the direct cause. He had no known pre-existing conditions; his death reflects the broader collapse of nutritional access.

All the images that have been circulated are of children with underlying medical conditions, so sick children being used as propaganda.

Can you link to any images where that is not the case?

I, for one, am thankful there are no images of real starvation, which are not linked to medical conditions, except from the hostages being held in Gaza of course.

Rezzan Abu Zahir (age 4)

Name: Rezzan Abu Zahir
Age: 4 years old
Location: Gaza Strip
Date of death: ~21 July 2025

Details of death: Rezzan died due to complications from starvation and malnutrition amid the ongoing blockade. There was no record of any prior medical condition- her death reflects the acute lack of food, clean water, and medical supplies in Gaza. ([AA News / Palestine News Agency, WAFA]

There are fully stocked cafes and restaurants/ food stalls open In Gaza today as evidenced by their own business Instagram accounts.

Please can you show any evidence of a fully stocked cafe and restuarant open in Gaza today?

Gaza - Saba:
Sun 20 July 2025

According to Sanad News Agency, a medical source at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital reported the death of four-year-old Razan Abu Zahir due to complications of malnutrition and hunger.

The child’s mother said that Razan suffered from hydrocephalus and had undergone surgery before the war, after which her condition improved. However, due to the lack of medicine and widespread hunger in the Gaza Strip, her condition deteriorated significantly, and she experienced severe weight loss. She had required special treatment and care.

My error 🤷‍♀️

It’s absolutely tragic that this child with a prior medical condition died due to malnutrition and hunger.

Because this particular thread is about the UK and US...

Oh, how convenient. Good ole west - always the easy white targets.

I've given my thoughts on other aspects of the topic on many other threads - you've "liked" several of them (different username, I can PM you to share).

But, again, this thread is about the US and the UK, so I'm talking about the US and the UK. Nothing to do with "convenience", everything to do with the idea of different threads for different subtopics.

If people are starving and being punished for simply being in Palastine/ West bank/ Israel (pick whatever suits you or insert if different) why aren't Egypt and Jordan being held to account for not opening their borders and helping at least the babies/ children or being used to get food in rather than air drops. Why can't we help the people via these routes and at least get some of the most vulnerable out? I am being honest in asking this, I really don't understand why these borders arent openly either get aid in or the most vulnerable out.

US to impose sanctions on Palestinian organisations - BBC News https://share.google/9LR0xRnN70ZnTzbzf

The us don't appear to give a shit about Palestine (unsurprising). More blood they have on their hands.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio

US to impose sanctions on Palestinian organisations

The US says both the PLO and the Palestinian Administration continue to support "terrorism".

I also feel like it’s got to this point- we just need to get children out. I would have never in a million years said this previously.

This is interesting https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cd6n0eeqp54o

It’s been happening a long time. I was struck by how aggressors everywhere in every religion who steal land from others claim that god wanted it for them. When actually they wanted it, and for economic reasons, as is always the case.

Bowen: Why some Palestinians aren't convinced by Starmer's promise

Some say Britain's decision is an important first step – while others worry it won't make a real difference, writes BBC's International Editor Jeremy Bowen.

Yes its all about greed, land grabbing, and power. Israel have been at it for years, now they just have the excuse to do it more loudly and proudly.

Edited

Civilians should have been got out at least 21 months ago. It was long known before this current war how Hamas ‘resists’, by getting as many civilians killed as they can hence where they base themselves, blend in as civilians, use of tunnels etc.

Why would you not have supported civilians being moved to safety, in a densely populated urban war zone in the above circumstances, previously?

Are all the needless deaths, caused by Hamas, worth it for them to stay on the land?

Sarah Awaidah, a Palestinian woman from the West Bank has had to claim asylum in Israel because she started an organisation to deliver aid into Gaza. Because her organisation bypassed Hamas and other profiteers she began to get death threats from both Gaza and the West Bank. Hamas is engineering this situation for propaganda and money. Given that Hamas have billions, I am willing to bet that people in the UN, UNICEF and other NGOs have been getting massive kickbacks from selling the aid.

Nasty, evil, Israel took in a Palestinian in fear of her life from her own people?

I’m glad she is safe.

This has me in tears and it's on ITV. Most mainstream Western media has finally got off the fence because the truth is simply too hard to ignore. I've also noticed major uptick in Israeli propaganda accounts on X which are flooding my timeline with pro-Israel narratives. Let the world's journalists in and let the truth out.

https://www.timesofisrael.com/bennett-israels-status-in-us-has-never-been-so-bad-its-becoming-leper-state/

Former prime minister Naftali Bennett warned that Israel’s status in the United States “has never been so bad” and that it is being seen as a “leper state” in a lengthy social media post on Tuesday.

The post castigating the current government’s public diplomacy efforts came after Bennett, who plans to run in next year’s elections, spent 10 days in the US. It follows a raft of polls and other indicators showing decreasing support for Israel and its war against Hamas in Gaza, among both major American political parties.

“The Democratic party hasn’t been with us for some time. We’re also losing the Republican party, whose support for Israel could once be counted on,” he wrote, though he credited US President Donald Trump with retaining support for Israel within his administration.

“Even those who have been our friends are having a hard time defending the State of Israel,” Bennett continued. “Israel is being seen more and more as a liability and burden on the USA and Americans.”

Tiredofwhataboutery · 22/08/2025 22:05

I think you overestimate the UK’s political clout tbh. I was listening to the economist podcast earlier and a parallel was drawn with the Algerian war of independence. Israel’s international standing has gone down, will they ( like the French) find their position untenable in the longer term and permanently withdraw.

I don’t think the leaders of Hamas care about the Gazans they want them starving, dying and on the news. Its an acceptable loss for long term gains. It is incredibly depressing. I’d agree with PP that it’s up to neighbouring states to increase the pressure on Hamas’ leadership.
