Fucking hell the racism and Islamophobia of your comment @ForKookyPoet is really quite astounding.

disgraceful and you should be ashamed.

ForKookyPoet · 22/06/2024 15:30

Thanks for that link, which confirms the IDF were targeting Hamas military infrastructure. I see Hamas are still making threats of violence. It's the only thing they are good at.

If it’s confirmed that there are children killed then once again idf has killed innocent civilians unless you think children are terrorists as well

MoMo999 · 22/06/2024 15:34

This is an awful story @ConnieCounter - we are raising funds to try and help Gazan children as it is so distressing to hear about stories like these. I'd love more people get involved if they want to as there seems a lot of support on this and other social media forums.

Well said EasterIssland; and @GlossyChipmonk is right about the racism and Islamphobia that seems to permeate. The moderation on this forum needs to improve.

Some of them are trained to be. Those poor children, who are used as martyrdom pawns. Sickening.

So highlighting the findings of an Aljazeera reporter, being a terrorist is racist and Islamophobic?

I’d say it’s sickening accusing children that have been killed to be terrorist without any proof of it

Did I say all of them are terrorists? Does it not bother you that at least one was found to be harbouring hostages? It certainly does me and makes an impact on where I care to read the news.

There you go again, with reading what isn't there. Just want you want me to have said. Of course, some children are radicalised into terrorism. You know that though.

And a vast majority are innocent children who have lost everything and some of them even their lives. Please have some respect for them and don’t justify their deaths

ConnieCounter · 22/06/2024 16:00

Imagine coming on to a parenting site to claim that children killed today by Israeli bombing may have been terrorists.

I think if you have to make comments like this you're really reaching to justify what your side is doing.

OP posts:
GlossyChipmonk · 22/06/2024 16:05

And here you are - trying to deflect the discussion from Israeli government atrocities and war crimes and ask us to justify why we think your comments are abhorrent.

the very fact you came to a post like this and immediately spat out hatred rather than show any sympathy or concern at innocent Palestinian children being literally blown to pieces is absolute demonstration of your racism and Islamophobia.

shame on you.

(and yes I know you’re going to keep posting to try to keep deflecting, but that’s fine - you’ll just be continuing to display your hatred and bigotry)

100% agree - that's why it is good to ignore the IDF supporters and let them talk to themselves. X is better as you can just block them, instead of having to flick over their posts without reading as you do on here.

ForKookyPoet · 22/06/2024 16:10

The over emotive dramatics really are something. Imagine coming onto
a parenting site and talking about kids being terrorists? You mean coming onto a CITME board, as a sub category of a parenting, amongst other things board? Drop those pearls, ladies and breathe.

Well said - Mumsnet need to get better at deleting thread derailers who often spend their time projecting their amateur dramatics onto others.

Parkingt111 · 22/06/2024 16:14

Not even a ounce of sympathy by some, for those killed, it's quite disturbing to read.

IDF supporters? Is there no nuance to your 'debate'?

GlossyChipmonk · 22/06/2024 16:51

Unfortunately throughout the entire conflict the IDF have committed atrocities against the Palestinians and other Muslims.

For example, i wish more people knew more about the Sabra and Shatila massacre (in Lebanon) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sabra_and_Shatila_massacre

but the Israeli government narrative is always about how they are attacked and if anyone speaks out against them then it’s anti-semitism. I think people are becoming increasingly aware of the disingenuous narrative. We need to treat the Israeli government like we treated the South African apartheid government. Shut them out of everything until they stop the terrorism against Muslims.

100% agree. Britain didn't bomb Ireland when dealing with the IRA, which it denoted as terrorists. I think Israel needs to live up to the standards that other democracies have. They don't seem able to handle that people neither agree with them, nor are we fooled by propaganda.

Scirocco · 22/06/2024 17:25

It might be nice if people could actually pause for a moment to express sympathy and compassion for the people killed or severely injured and the grieving people left behind, rather than just launching straight into the usual minimising.

There are valid discussions that could take place about the ethics and challenges of conflict in urban areas, but I really think the first part of any such discussion needs include compassion and recognition of the innocent lives lost.

This has been another tragedy. More people killed and injured. The majority of people on this site have children in their lives, children they love. The children dying in Gaza deserve to live and to be safe, just like children everywhere else in the world deserve to be. And yet the world is watching their deaths and doing so little to try to help them.

Scirocco-"It might be nice if people could actually pause for a moment to express sympathy and compassion for the people killed or severely injured and the grieving people left behind, rather than just launching straight into the usual minimising."

I am beginning to think Israel supporters are incapable of that. I guess one has to be incapable of sympathy or compassion to support a country that is committing genocide on people it has brutally oppressed for 76 years.
