Dispatches from the opposition to antisemitism march

Just wondered if anyone had seen this video that Konstantin from Triggernometry has put out reflecting on Sunday’s opposition to antisemitism march? I was there with my mum and my four month old baby (little fella was in the carrier). We’re not Jewish, though my son has a Jewish Nonna from Rome.

I thought it was a great day and Konstantin has captured the spirit and energy of the event really well.

I made the same observation about the presence of British flags . I heard someone at the march behind me mention it too, why they are included at this march but not so much at the pro-Palestine ones (I think that’s right, but tell me otherwise if I’m mistaken).

Good to see many Iranian flags and participants too. I think it’s important to elevate the voices of these brave people who oppose the existing regime in Iran, particularly in light of its ongoing support and sponsorship of Hamas.

Just a side note, I’m really glad that the former EDL leader was expelled from the march (I won’t mention him by name). This was a peaceful event and as such, extremists were definitely not welcome!

Looking forward to comparing and contrasting the reflections on next week’s pro-Palestine rally from Konstantin (or Francis). Should be illuminating!

I didn't even bother watching the video as I could tell from the OP post exactly how it was going to play out. So well done for providing a review.

You didn't bother to watch the full video because you have a lazy mind.
Nothing more to add, really.

I think when you start a thread in the way the OP has you are putting 2 sides against each other from the outset. Both marches are a legitimate expression of freedom of speech and I can't fathom why there seems to be a real motive by some on here to compare and contrast the 2. What are you trying to achieve. To try and show one was better then the other or more peaceful? I really don't see the point.

Agree. Thousands of Gazan children dead, many thousands more bereaved and maimed and homeless. Not everyone at these marches is marching for peace or with good intentions.

Is the peace vigil a joint thing? Ie both 'sides'?

Yes, absolutely. It specifically states no flags or placards too, so totally non-partisan. It sounds wonderful, and precisely the thing I've been hoping for and looking for since the current horror began. I'm so upset that I won't be free to attend. Hopefully there'll be others.

I'd like to attend one near me too, if possible. Unfortunately London is much too far away and I'm not near any big cities. Will still keep an eye out anyway.
