"Within a year we will eliminate them all.” A video by Israel's public broadcaster of children singing about Gaza has caused a backlash online, including among many Israelis.

This song doesn’t represent the sentiment in Israel but what some did after 7-10 represents what Palestinians feel?

Yep! Deux poids, deux mesures.

I am neither Palestinian or Jewish but I’ve done a couple of degrees in History and Political Science and I’m sort of horrified by the way people have such strong opinions on such a complex morally difficult conflict that they don’t understand at all. Those are the children of settlers in Israeli society settlers are mainly considered extremists they don’t reflect the views of most Israelis AT ALL and unlike other Israelis they’re mostly not required/mandatorily drafted to serve in the IDF. In fact, most normal Israelis have some level resentment because they feel that the settlers are a tiny minority of people who cause a lot of problems and get a lot of concessions because often they’re backed by major American money and not only do regular Israelis have to sacrifice themselves a to defend them but they don’t appreciate the IDF and hurl abuse at the soldiers sent to protect them. So yeah these are the children of the most extreme elements in Israeli society that do not represent the views of the overwhelming majority of Israelis.

By contrast, in Gaza under Hamas (which is an Iranian/Muslim Brotherhood proxy group exactly like ISIS) Hamas controls every single aspect of life in Gaza from distribution of essential goods to the education of children to what journalists may and may not cover while in Gaza. They’ve developed the most sophisticated underground tunnel system and civilian human shield infrastructure the world has ever seen and this has been extensively chronicled by NATO, Westpoint analysts and military intel in every G8 county and it’s not propaganda it’s a fact that’s been extensively documented.

While Hamas does not represent ALL Palestinians in Gaza just after October 7th, polls showed that they did enjoy a roughly 70% approval rate which is more than any world leader in any G8 country and it’s been extensively well documented for the past decade and a half that they’ve used their absolute chokehold on the Gaza Strip (after Israel withdrew form Gaza) to endoctrinate Gazan children. Every day on Palestinian television presenters praise the virtue of Martyrdom when it kills Jews in the name of Allah, in the West Bank and in Gaza the families of martyrs are given large bribes for family members who commit suicide attacks on Israeli civilians and also enjoy prestige, the fact that someone would say that it’s ridiculous to raise this as a counterpoint to this video is insane - the level of disturbing indoctrination is not comparable. Just a few of many sources documenting this:

The first precept of studying history is to remain impartial. It appears this fundamental principle is lacking in your analysis.

Child A: lives in a nice area. Parents have jobs. Children has never known starvation. Can go to school, has access to healthcare. Nice home.

Child B: lives under occupation all their life. Is traumatised by checkpoints, snipers, relatives being imprisoned by an occupier. Father and many relatives killed by said occupier. Grandparents still have keys to the house that was seized from them by settlers. Access to food and resources controlled by occupiers.

If either child calls for the death of the other side its not the same is it.

It’s a sad state of affairs when all people have to aspire to is martyrdom, and in that instance it’s probably a good idea to explore the factors that lead to this.

I found what you posted informative but as is pointed out above by others, I think you have omitted an analysis of how these differences may have come about, particularly the impact of occupation and denial of human rights.

10% of all Israelis are illegal settlers and that number is growing rapidly. Settlers aren't some kind of fringe group, I certainly wouldnt call 10% of an entire population a 'tiny minority'. In 2017 just over 50% of Israelis when polled said that the settlement policy was either 'wise' or 'moderately wise'. Here is an article from 2020 that says half of Israelis support West Bank annexation, 30% of Israelis oppose it entirely. What is an 'overwhelming majority' and a 'tiny minority' to you? 30% and 10%?

This will be a long post to rebut some of your points.

do not represent the views of the overwhelming majority of Israelis Right wing Zionists are in power in Israel - we’re told it’s a democracy and this is their elected government and this is how the leaders think. It’s not what we see in Manhattan or Brooklyn or New York or Manchester, places that have substantial Jewish populations so it can’t really be about religion/ ethnicity . These children reflect the values of the adults in charge. Its obvious that they extremists but it is an extremist regime.

Hamas is bad but continues to enjoy grassroots support of sorts Hamas ruled Gaza because Netanyahu funded and encouraged Hamas in order to undermine the prospect of a more moderate and more secular peace partner emerging. This is because he has never accepted the two started solution. So now your post kind of hints that the Palestinians are getting what they deserve because Hamas are so dreadful. What is happening to Palestinians is morally wrong. Civilians deaths on this scale are inexcusable.
Thanks to Netanyahu, there is no viable alternative to Hamas and Hamas are willing to fight the Netanyahu government to the death.

Hamas doesn’t need to “endoctrinate” or indoctrinate children- Israel does the heavy lifting for them. More than a thousand Gazan children were permanently disabled by Israel in 2014, 3000+ wounded. The independent panel found only 3.8% of textbooks used by the half million kids that UNWRA was educating gave concern.

impact.se This is an Israeli NGO. One of its key people, Marcus Sheff, was formerly CEO of The Israel Project , described by one critic as seeming “ to exist for no other reason than to spotlight the very worst aspects of Muslim societies.". Impact only looks at Islamic education in general, although it 2/12 of its publications address Israeli schools.Impact’s publication should not be confused with the independent panel’s report. I’ve read the 54 pages- have you?

MEMRI was founded by an ex IDF intelligence agent Yigal Carmon and Israeli born Meyer Wurmser. The latter one of the authors of the “Clean Break” neoconservative Zionist report which was prepared for Netanyahu in 2003, basically recommending rejecting the peace accord.

Guardian journalist, Brian Whittaker has said of MEMRI”poses as a research institute when it's basically a propaganda operation”

According to Wikipedia “. Critics have accused MEMRI of producing inaccurate, unreliable translations with undue emphasis and selectivity in translating and disseminating the most extreme views from Arabic and Persian media, which portray the Arab and Muslim world in a negative light, while ignoring moderate views that are often found in the same media outlets” and several credible examples are listed.
